Trying to figure out what to do with my invitations, do I try to do it myself or do I find someone that knows what they are doing? Any recommendations?
TIA

Try weddingink.net if digital calligraphy works for you....Our envelopes came out great and Nicole is very helpful, I highly recommend her!

Re: Calligraphy -HELP
I really wanted hand calligraphy for my invites and so I did it myself. They came out great and no one knew that I hadn't gotten them done professionally!

Re: Calligraphy -HELP
Got a few compliments on how nice our calligraphy was but the FI and I appreciated it most!! Or if others liked it a lot they didn't tell us.
We love our calligraphied envelopes for our own 'souveneirs' to use as wedding photo props, but they are definitely NOT necessary.
Very pretty though, and something we can keep forever after all this is said and done.

I was wondering about this too. I really want to do them myself and save money but I have terrible handwriting. The girls that did do them yourselves- did you use any sort of a guide or anything to help you with them?
Thanks!

If you go to Michael's you can get a calligraphy pen set that comes with a diagram that shows each letter. Hold the pen so that the tip is at about a 45 degree angle. The brand of pen I bought with the guide is Elegant Writer. HTH! It's pretty fun!
Edited to add: be sure to not stack them on top of each other until they're fully dry! They smudge very easily at first!
