Calligraphy Quote - 'informal' inner envelopes more expensive??

Can someone explain this to me?

I just got a quote for calligraphy from a well-known source... I was told that inner envelopes are included in the price so long as they are done the formal way. If they are done informally, it is an extra 25 cents per line.

Why? I'm asking honestly, as I just don't understand the procedure. Doesn't she have to write it out either way?!

This way is free:
Outer: Mr. and Mrs John Smith
Inner : Mr. and Mrs Smith

This way costs an extra 25 cents per line:
Inner: Mary and John

Doesn't make any sense to me other than yet another way to price gauge us brides to be

maybe it is faster for the calligrapher to write out Mr. & Mrs, then to write out different letters of names because they are writing out Mr & Mrs over and over again...
