That looks so pretty!!! I'm still debating black with different color stoles, or red like Lisa's color.... Ahhh, I hate decisions!! You are the best though... Sara- that is her user name- her bridesmaids look awesome in black with different color shawl....

Why does your mom hate the black sooooo much? It is very elegant and modern. You are having an evening wedding correct?

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!
That is what I am thinking (evening wedding btw).... but here are her points: 1) thinks there is too much black with the tuxes and all and it is a black tie affair so there will be a lot of black 2) thinks it is morbid- funerally... I don't know... I thought it was nice but now I am thinking of the pics and how the whole bp will be black except me... Ahhhh!!!!! Thanks!!

No great ,Jenny you are here. Stay for a sec and help me out..... I see you have black bm dresses and we are getting married on the same day. Are you evening sept 20? Also, what made you decide to go with black. Are the dresses satin? Also, does it blend well with the guys blend tuxes or is it too much in the pics? Sorry for the barage of questions, but as you can see from former posts I am in bm hell!!!!

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!
Yep, evening!
As for why black BM dresses: 1. I think black always looks elegant 2. It flatters everybody 3. The dress I picked out can be worn again (they can cut down the dress if they wish) 4. They can wear whatever black shoes they want (obviously not sneakers! I trust my BMs' taste.)
The gowns are a matte taffeta. I couldn't tell you about them blending well or not with the guys' tuxes. We haven't gotten to that part yet! Too be honest, I'm not that concerned. Hopefully the BMs' bouquets will help distinguish them in the formal photos. (I'm just starting to check out tuxes.)
Hope those answers helped a little bit!

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!
I think this picture brings home Jenny's point. i think the trick is to have vibrant flowers. i think it will look beautiful:
Sept20- Just close your eyes and picture the day...also picture yourself looking through pictures 20+ years from now...Now think about what color and style dress you would be most happy looking at that day and in the future. Without anyone's opinions interfering- what color do YOU like? There's your choice!

Thanks everyone. I think that we narrowed it down to black, but I am still unsure....

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!
Jenny, love your Chatty Cathy remark! I have a huge doll collection and most of them are Chatty Cathy! I have my original given to me when I was six and many many more. My fi built me a beautiful display case but I'm moving into his house next month and I don't think it's going to fit out the door of my apt! I'm going to start bridesmaid dress shopping next month. It's going to be a problem because my maids are very diverse in age, size and location. Three live nearby. I think I'll just take the three of them, let them pick something out and hopefully the other two will just go along. And my reception hall has alot of green in it so I need something that will look nice with that in pictures.
Don't worry Dani.... We will be so prepared when the time comes!!! I think I am prepared now!!! 8 months remaining for you come the 5th. Exciting!

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!
Hey ladies - I haven't checked the board in a few days and it took me a while to read thru all the new posts. You girls have been busy. We will have our own board before we know it.
Sept20 - I think black is very elegant and will look great. Black is one of the colors I am considering for my BM's.
I just turned 29.
I am attending the GTG - can't wait to meet all of you. For those that are shy - you won't have a minute to be shy. At the NYC GTG, I was so nervous I would sit there and not have anyone to talk to and it turned out I didn't get home until after midnight. It will be a great time.
Hope everyone had a nice holiday and happy new year!!!

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!
It is a tradition that every NewYearsEve, me and my dad go on a 'dinner date' together. Then afterwards I am meeting FH at our friends house for a small party. 2003 is our year ladies!!!! And of course, I always cry when the ball drops, don't ask me why
