CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

Original post by LnP2003

I was just wondering where all you 9/03 brides were at with your vendors & things. EVERYONE keeps telling me that I am soooooo ahead of myself, but I feel like I'm lagging, and that not everything is going to be done by the time the wedding comes around......

I think the dress is the worst part- there are so many nice ones and you only get one.

I think it is going to be really hard to decide on one with all of the options out there. I agree it has to be the hardest part. We will have to post pictures once we all decide.

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

hey hey hey...... i'm back!!!!!!!!!!!

so sorry to have kept you all guessing as to where i have been, but i'm back. turns out that someone snitched on me about some nonsense at work, and so as to make an example of me, they took away all internet priveleges at the office..... as if i care - the only thing that upsets me about it is that i can't talk to you lovelies all day long!!!

You must be going through horrible withdrawl? If I couldn't check from work I would never be able to keep up. I have a hard time now. But I'm sure you are getting much more work done. LOL

LoL - You don't even want to know how much more work I'm getting done.... It's terrible!!!

Anyway Engagement Story...

It was May 5th, 2002. Greek Easter Sunday & the first day that his parents were meeting my parents (yes girls - can you feel the stress). Anyway, I had told them to come over at 1 p.m. figuring that I would have helped out my mother plenty & would have had plenty of time to prepare.....

Of course not! Anywho - thank goodness one of my best friends was there. She went downstairs for me & introduced everyone. I went down at around 1:20 ready for a drink. I did my hi's & hello's and made sure that everyone was being cordial to the other. At around 2 - FH asked me if I wanted to go take a walk - he said that I looked like I needed to get away. At that point, I think I heard those words coming out of an angels mouth (LoL). I so needed to get out of the middle of family mayhem.

Anyway, while we were having a cigarette in the driveway, he asked me if I would come to the car with him so as to help bring in some stuff that his mom brought. I said sure, why not....

So we get to the car, and he's having trouble getting the trunk open. I'm just waiting.... So he finally gets it open, and he looks at me, then looks in the trunk, then looks up at me again, and turns to me and says................

Be my best friend & bride forever..... and of course I just had to start bawling.................. Everyone came running out of my parents house (cuz of course they all knew) and then the pictures began!

Edited to say: Here comes the &

HEY - DO I GET CREDIT FOR ABOUT 15 POSTS FOR THIS ONE????? J/K

I actually still have to do the bridesmaids dresses and the invites. My fh's parents will get the cake. I am taking a break right now and will restart everything in January. January through March, those will be my only tasks. After that, honeymoon, etc... We actualy don't need limos, but people seem to be resrving early.

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

I just wanted to share- that I went to try on the dress I planned on ordering again and now I think I found a completely different dress. My mom thinks I should just order the new 'THE DRESS' so that I stop freaking out about it and stop trying on more dresses. Then I thought the honeymoon was something that could totally wait but I was wrong. We had looked into Hawaii but were waiting for the airfare to come out and now the Hyatt Kuai is booked for when we wanted to go, but we are just going to change the order of the islands- September is going to be here before we know it.

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

I actually looked at dresses this weekend and I think I may have found the dress. I went to the Vera Wang sample sale - what a mess. We waited forever, which we expected, but the selection was awful. The dresses are so heavy to begin with and then they are dirty and ripped. It was something I wanted to experience but neer again. SInce I had most of my BM's with me and my mom and sister, we decided to go and try on dresses. I had no plans of looking before January but since we were all together we went.
It was the first dress I tried on and when I walked out everyone said WOW. It was amazing but since it was the first dress I was a bit worried. After trying on several others in which no one agreed, some liked them while others hated them. I went back in and put the first one on - and again we all loved it. I LOve it so much but I worry since it is the first dress I tried on. It was the first time I had ever seen myself in a wedding dress and it was the ONE. What do you guys think? I just hink it is perfect but do you think I should look at others?

Now I'm jealous. I wish that when I go dress shopping I get 'that' feeling. I say go for the one you liked in the beginning. If you tried on others and after everything tried it on again and still felt that you LOVED it then that's the one.

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

Thanks. I will let you guys know how it turns out. The interesting part is that you expect to be overwhelmed by 'THE' dress but for me it was more that it was beautiful and I liked the way it looked on me. The really overwhelming part is just seeing yourself in a wedding dress. There were tons of people there and they are all looking at you and giving their opinions. Its wild.

Re: CALLING ALL 9/03 BRIDES!!!

Fletch ask them to let you try on a veil etc. At Bridal Reflections they gave me a veil, headpiece, shoes a boquet and even a hairpiece- that was overwhelming but in a good way. A lot of people end up with the first dress they try on.

They actually gave me a veil to put on and jewlery. It was so much fun. You feel like a star standing there is the light while everyone is looking at you. The peopel at RK bridal are so nice and the woman helped me was laughing when at my reaction to seeing myself for the first time.
