I actually made some progress this week – I FINALLY got a dress. Woo hoo! I can’t believe it. What a huge relief. I still have so much to do but at least the major thing is out of the way. I can’t believe how the time is flying by – I have to get my butt moving.

HELP 9/03 BRIDES! I'm getting married on Sunday 9/21/2003 at the Bourne Mansion. I'm planning this wedding from Philadelphia, where I live. I've had the hardest time trying to find hair/makeup people that are in my price range and good! Every popular hair/makeup person recommended on all the chat places is booked, Jen from Fairtale, JN, didn't really like Bessie from beautiful girls,..anyway, the other ones that are being recommended, just seem so expensive when I call them...
I need someone to come to the hotel where we are getting ready (exit 58 LIE, Marriot in Islandia) and to do my hair/makeup and some of the girls hair and makeup. I'd like to pay $100 for hair and no more than $75 for my makeup, I'd like for the prices for my girls to be $50 for hair and $50(or less) for makeup..but everyplace I call, this isn't the case, I'd like to provide someone who is reasonable for my bridesmaids, but who is good for me too! I don't have a headpice, just a come veil, so I don't think my hair will be that hard to do?

Does anyone have any recommendations in my price range? This is my biggest hurdle at the moment..also, that I'm trying to plan weekends to come up to LI for the trials, but I can't see spending so much money on these trials...

I greatly appreciate anyone's assistance!!

Things have been a little crazy so FH and I decided to postpone the wedding but now we are trying to get married in September again (My life always seems to get so complicated but anyway).

Did everyone order invitations already? How long does it usually take for the invitations to come in?

I still have so many things to do!!!!

I ordered mine from Rexcraft and they came in one week. Yes, one week - amazing, huh?

I got my invitations from Laura at LA Productions. A vendor on here as well. If you tell her your timr frame I'm sure she could work with you.

We ordered our invites from Simply Elegant, and had great turnaround. The invites were from Checkerboard, and we got them in about four weeks.

I am getting the invites ready to stuff, have to make up direciton cards to the church as the ones that they have are ugly. I am not going all out this time though, just buying ercu cardstock and printing them up myself. Sent the out of town BMs their dresses, and my mom is working on my shower

I have another question regarding posting a photo. I was trying to post a photo of me in my dress (pre-alterations), but my jpg image is too big to attach, do you know how to make the image only 50k, so that I can attach?

I don't usually have much time to read/write/post too much, but I thought I'd share a photo of my wedding dress. My gown is a Vera Wang gown, which I bought the sample from the store (which is why I could afford it!). Anyway, I fell in love with the fabric of the dress, it just feels so wonderful and looks so shiney, and it fit me perfectly. Also, amazing, it looks like it had never been tried on! The only alterations I will need to do is to remove the straps(I stuffed them into the top of the dress for the photo) and hem the bottom!

I'm a discount shopper by nature, and I just got my veil from veilshop.com (not the one in the photo) for $50 including shipping. I got a 2 layer fingertip length veil and I can't tell you how happy I am with the veil and with the service of the website! The have a return policy too, which is usually unheard of with online discount places! My pearls for the wedding are ones my fiance just got me in Asia. Oh, I got my A-line slip at Davids for $49.

I just wanted to share, just in case anyone was looking for a veil or a slip!
