I want to find a new person to do my hair on my wedding day!!!
I had a trial with a girl and it cost me $65...then to travel to my house and do my hair it's $150..she wanted to charge $50 for a BLOW OUT on a bridesmaid!!! I already paid for the trial..and I loved what she did..but I feel like i'm being ripped off!! Everyone on here is saying '$100' and $45 to DO UP the BM hair!
My wedding is Sunday 9/26 (yes 10 days away) but I want to know if it's not too late for another person to give me a trial and hair that won't leave me broke!
ANY SUGGESTIONS???

Post on the Vendors helping brides. I haven't scheduled mine yet but it seems mighty pricey

I don't have a suggestion, I'm sorry. But, as a BM I've always paid $75 for up-dos.
For my wedding, I paid $100 for me and she came to my house, and one of my BM and my mom have short hair and paid $50 for blow out. Just wanted to give you idea of cost. Your prices don't seem that far off.

You might be right...I just have VERY LITTLE experience with stylists and such...I barely remembered that your supposed to tip! It's my third time in my LIFE getting my hair done...so I'm not too savey with what things cost. I just saw people getting free trials and all..and I was kind of upset. I guess my BM just won't get her hair done...She can't afford more than $35. money sucks.

I work part time in a hair salon. The reson it is so much is because they are doing you a service and going to your house. If you had it done at the salon I am sure that it would not cost you as much. It's the same idea with make-up. Is make-up really worth $100-$130? Whenever they hear wedding they raise the price.

Robnette - maybe you can go to the salon to save money on your hair. Or if you still have her come and your BM can only afford 35, can you pay the rest as part of her gift?

I'm using Taralei and she charges more than you were asked for, and I still think it's reasonable. If I remember correctly it will be $125 for my hair and a max of $75 for the BM, less if they want something simple.

The best option is to try going to the local salon... they usually have lower standard prices. My sister did that for her wedding.

OK, I am paying WAY more than that, admittedly it is the city -- but that is what friends paid (more I think) for us at a Flowerfield wedding last year. Does not seem that high. If you want someone new, post on the Newlywed Board.

well...I'm glad that it's not super high....
the thing is that...this IS the local salon...and I would go to the place instead..but they are closed on Sundays....so she is coming to my house..since it would cost the same either way she said. I was surprised being that it's a salon and weddings aren't scarce in that neighborhood or anything. I posted on the vendors site...but all in all..i'm happy with her work...I was just seeing so many that were $50 less than mine...and cheaper BMs.
Oh..I would pay the balence for BM's hair..but we just can't....I have already bought their gifts...and I overspent!
it's ok...I loved what she did...I just always wory that i'm being taken....since I have no experience hiring people to do things for me! I'm a 'do it yourself' girl!

Robnette-- I'm not sure if the girl that I'm using for my hair is available on your date but you can check. She will come to your house (depending on where you live)--i haven't had my trial with her yet (it will be $30) and then day of prices are $35 for a blowout and $60 for an updo. She did my sisters hair for a wedding last year and my sister was really happy. FM me if you want her phone number.

If you were really happy with the way she did your hair I would just pay it. Those prices aren't that bad and pretty much the norm.
IMO I wouldn't go crazy 10 days before the wedding trying to find a new person. What you would pay for a new trial could go to your BMs hair.

it's high b/c she's coming to YOU .......if you went to the salon it would not be as much. Also, they hear bride and they raise the price.
Did you take pics of your trial ? Any reputable stylist will be able to replicate it.......
