Calling all Brooklyn girls Giando on the Water or The River Cafe.......

OK, I need a break from Long Island venues (nothing is working out) so I am moving onto Brooklyn. I am thinking about doing a July 4th wedding so I was looking for a site that might have a view of Manhattan and the fireworks. Anyone familiar with either Giando on the Water or The River Cafe?? Thanks!

Well, The River Cafe and Giando on the Water are world's away from each other in price. The River Cafe is absolutely beautiful...with top notch food and beautiful views. It's also a bit pricey. Giando on the Water is more reasonably priced...and has all of the elements of River Cafe but all taken down a bit as reflected in the price. The food is ok (been there for dinner, not a wedding), the views aren't bad, and the interior is rather nice. So, if you can afford the River Cafe go for it, otherwise Giando is a nice alternative.

After I posted the question the manager from The River Cafe called me back with pricing info.......WOW so much $$$$$. So I guess I will check out Giando just to see something new and to not be on the LIE this weekend :)

I wanted a view of the Brooklyn Bridge, so I looked into Bargemusic, a little barge next to the River Cafe that you can rent out for private parties. It's pretty but I got sea-sick when I went to look at it.

There's also a place called Keno that I've heard of, in DUMBO, that is a bar/lounge/restaurant. I haven't been there and don't know about their food.

I've never been to Giando's but please post if you look into them.

I'm a little biased because Giando's is my cousin's ex-husbands place. It was named after my cousin's Gina, Anthony and Donna. My cousin's sweet 16 was there. I would have had my wedding there, but my guests all live on LI and would make a big -to-do if they had to go to Brooklyn.

Giando's was my 1st choice but unfortunately, I would have had to return to selling my body on the weekends in order to afford a reception with 250 ppl.

Too funny B2B because I live in LOng Island and I want the view of the City. My family is coming all the way from Texas! I am considering Giando. I haven't seen it yet.
