I am having a lemon & lime theme (wedding is in the summer) and would really appreciate ideas (with pics?) on creative ways I could design DIY (or store bought) place cards. I love to be unique!
thats what I was going to suggest only with limes and lemons!

Re: Calling all creative thinkers....
you can cut a little slit in the top (not through to the meat, so nothing gets soggy) and put the place card in a lemon/lime and then take a little slice off of one side (again, not through to the meat) and it will lie flat and not roll around. and since you can typically get bags of lemons/limes real cheap at sams/costco, that could definitely be a really cheap, cute idea!! good luck!

hmmmm.. you can do lemon and lime scented candles:
i found these lemon lime salt shakers on Favors by Gina : or you could do key lime cookies, or lemon drops:
you could always just have a caligrapher write their names on lemons and limes with a sharpie?!
i cant find a pic but last time i was in florida they had these novelty mini lime and lemon trees that come in like a plastic planter but supposedly you can plant them outside and they really grow fruit. from what i remember they were only $5 or $10. that would be an adorable favor (but im not sure where youd get them or how much they would be)

I remember seeing a post about 'fruit slice place card holders' which made my head click to what about that and fruit slice (those gummi candies) candy favors. they come in lime, lemon, red? and something else.
