I am booked with Giorgios. We had initially planned on doing a combination candle/rose pedal CP, like the attached with a pilar cnadle in a hurricane vase. I went to speak with a florist today who asked if somone would set them up, otherwise she would have to include a set up fee. So I called Giorgios and spoke with George Sr. who said that candle CP's are difficult because of the fire marsahll laws. He said that each town is different and the candle needs to be a certain height away from the top of the hurricane vase. He also said that he would not be able to light them because of the fire marshall laws (or something like that)....I had a hard time understanding him, partly because of his thick Italian accent and FH usually translates for me (heheh). So I am gonna call back tomorrow and speak with George Jr and find out about this. So when I was with the florist I got a price with the candle/rose pedal CP idea and one with a floral arrangment price (which was a little bit higher). If we did all flowers we still want to have votives on the tables. Who lights them??? This is all SO confusing!!! Can anyone help???
not giorgios. but if you are allowed to have votives on the table, why cant the waitresses light them, when i worked catering we always had to do that..maybe i am confused though

Thats what I thought, but I got a different impression from George Sr. He made it seem like he couldnt light them.
I had once heard from a friend who said that a family member had to go around and light her votives (at another hall) because the hall was NOT ALLOWED to light them because of te fire laws.

It was gorgeous!! I love the chandeliers.
Yes we invited 320 and they could not accommodate that many people.

Really...I didn't even think that they wouldn't allow them. We are doing the centerpiece below...I guess I need to call george and see if we can do my centerpiece.
We were in the same boat. We wanted candle centerpeices and George told us that we had to have the candle surrounded in glass for the full lenth of the candles due to the laws. We are now having flower centerpieces with votives. The votives will be lit by the florist.
