Re: calling all married and back from HM brides

We went to the Sandals Grande on St Lucia. LOVED it. Why? So relaxing. They pick you up at the airport, and as soon as you arrive you're seated in a nice cushy chair and someone brings you a rum punch--no standing on line at the front desk. You fill out the forms, and they bring you everything and you can then go and change or go off and find something to eat or do, it's all prepared for you. I loved it being all-inclusive. I didn't carry money for over a week. Yes, we did go off site a few times, but that's what I have a husband for, let him carry the wallet. The pools were huge and pristine, the ocean was crystal clear, warm, and the sand is so soft it's amazing. Our room was large, clean and quiet--we had an ocean-view room, not one of the ones overlooking a pool, which probably would be louder. The food was good. Not amazing, but definitely good, and there were a few things that were very tasty. And the staff is great, they are all so friendly. At first my husband and I were all, 'why are they being so nice to us when they can't get tips?' but eventually we got used to the nice staff. Oh, and the views are incredible. St Lucia is a gorgeous island in general, and we had a great time on our excursions--one to the rainforest for zipling, which was amazing , and an all-day land-sea tour to the volcano, botanical gardens, and snorkeilng. Amazingly relaxing trip. I can't recommend it more.

We went to Aruba and to disney
Aruba's beaches are beautiful and the snorkling was great. If you're into sight seeing the whole week, there's not too much sight seeing because the island is small.
Disney I love because it's Disney. You can go to pleasure island or universal city walk at night if you want some drinking/dancing.

We went to Hawaii.... Loved it!! When are you ever gonna get a chance to visit Hawaii?!?! We started in Kaui for 5 nights then went to Maui for 6 nights. Both islands are lush and beautiful. Stayed at the Grand Hyatt for both locations so we got the free buffet breakfast every morning. Very nice breakfast with a view of the beach. You get treated like royalty. Nice dining, excursions, etc. So much to see and still can rest and enjoy the scenery and company.

Couples Ocho Rios in Jamaica

we LOVED it cause it was very relaxing and we could just lay around all day and not feel pressured to do 'activities'. it was adults only, all inclusive, and we didn't really have to leave the resort that much. (just for shopping and some excursions)

highly recomend if you are the type that just likes to veg and isn't concerned with nite life and such. (we weren't)

we paid a little more cause it was during the most expensive time of year to travel to caribbean...8 days/7 nites, 1 bdrm suite, about $4500 with airfare

Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda!

We mainly liked it since it was a partially inclusive resort (we like exploring off resort) on a gorgeous beach--- we chose this place since there was stuff to do for DH (snorkel, hike) but I was satisfied with just lying on the beach, there were 3 terrific restaurants on the resort, amazing service, comfy room with private porch leading to beach, a luxury spa where we were pampered, I could go on and on and on. We can't wait to go back someday---this past weekend my mother said she read it got rated as one of the best resorts in the Carribean.

Good Luck--there are sooo many terrific places to choose from!!!

Costa Rica, we were able to have a mix of romance, relaxation, and adventure. It also wasn't that long of a plane ride and not super expensive. It was the best vacation ever, DH and I love talking about it all the time!

Sunset at the Palms in Negril, Jamaica

we LOVED it cause it was very relaxing and we could just lay around all day and not feel pressured to do 'activities'. it was all inclusive, and we didn't really have to leave the resort that much. (just for shopping and some excursions)

the grounds were amazing... we felt like we were living in a tree house (it was a hut like room...) the insects and birds lulled you to sleep at night and woke you in the morning...awesome. you felt like you were in the jungle, and then it was just a quick walk to the beach.

also, because it was not ON the ocean, it was not crowded. everyone was across the street at Sandals and Couples.... it looked so hectic and crowded. and when we got to the beach, we didn't have to fight over pool chairs.

also, they have a spa there if you want a massage, facial, etc. etc.
highly recommend if you are the type that just likes to veg out and chill. you won't like if you want the club/dance nite life in the evenings.

also affordable... we only spent $3100.00 all together including flights for 7 nights, 8 days and we traveled in february... an expensive time for the carribbean.

We went to Italy. We stayed in Rome, Venice and Florence. We loved it. We had always wanted to go and we decided to go for our honeymoon because we figured that it probably be the only time that we could afford to go. We did alot of sightseeing during the day . Dh did not want to go to a tropical island cause he said he would be bored sitting on a beach for 10 days and I felt the same.

We went there too and I totally agree!!!!!!! We went on the sunset cruise excursion, that was awesome!!!!!! We were told the place was completely booked, but there was so much space to swim and roam we assumed that not many people were there.

One night my earring broke off IN MY EAR. I couldn't get it out. One of the staff members helped me get it out and I tried giving her money, but she refused. At the end of the trip they asked if anyone went above and beyond. We said EVERYBODY, then speciifcally gave the name of the girl that helped me. They are so friendly there!!!! I have some pictures in my review!

We went to Hawaii for 2 weeks (Oahu, Maui, and Kauai) and we loved it!

We stayed at the Westin in Maui and it was fabulous. We used a timeshare week in Kauai and did one night at the Princeville and it was the most beautiful hotel I've ever seen!

The whole trip DH was talking about our next trip back there (he was saying in 2008 but, that's not going to happen!)

OMG... they're both beautiful hotels. Loved the one in Kaui. Even the restaurants are so good. Plus, if you do the island hopper you get the free buffet breakfast every morning.
