FH and I were going over the booklet and we noticed that our flower girl needs to be accompained by an adult! She is 3! Also from what we read, she can't throw rose petals when she coming down the asile! I was wondering if she can use silk flowers. What are you doing for your flower girl?

I'm just going to have my girls walk down with flowers in their basket......I don't think you can throw anything. I also read the part about the kids need to be accompanied. I think I'm going to 'pretend' I didn't see it. I have a 6, two 5 and a 4 year olds in my party.

I think you are fine with the ages. Any child 3 and under needs to be accompained. I think that's dumb. We should 'pretend' too!...lol Yeah, I read that no flowers can be thrown either. So she will have a beasket of flowers and can't do anything with them..that's terrible. I think something happened and there was a lawsuit..just m feeling.

here is the deal with st. joes...cant throw anything...no runner...and anyone over 5 can be alone.... guess what... as long as i feel they can handle walking down the aisle.. they will be alone.... deacon john said as long as they can 'handle it' it should be fine.....i am doing a flower ball that she will hold instead so ..she wont be tempted

I am a St. Josephs bride too. We are having the 3 FG's (ages 6, 4, 2) carry pomanders (pic in my album). There is nothing for them to throw, so I thought that was a really cute idea for them. I plan on having them walk down ALONE, no adult.
Father Heller is marrying us (full mass), and we have yet to decide what we are gonna throw outside? I dont think we can throw anything?!?! right? I was thinking of doing ribbon wands, but I really dont know?!?!?!!?

No, I don't think you can throw anything. For the outside we are gonna use bubbles..bubbles can't hurt anyone!..lol What did you do for music? Did you use Marie? Or go outside of the church to hire someone? FH and I were shocked that it was $200 for the music by Marie..we thought it would be less than that!

yea it is alot for music. I dont know who else to use? who are you going to use, if not Marie? I am in FL, so I dont really know where to begin if we were to hire someone else??? I wanted to do bubbles, but being that I am getting married 11/29, and if it's cold out, i would feel bad to make the guests wait outside just to blow bubbles. any other suggestions??

We got a cd for Marie but since it's been sitting in my laptop the phone number got erased!!!! Now, I gotta try to find out how to get the number. If she is booked I don't know what we will do! I don't know if we can hire outside the church!!!!

Ill prob wind up using bubbles, and if its really chilly out, then we have nothing. Sometimes I feel like just sneaking petals, cause what are they really gonna do? we have already made the donation and married us by then? They are just very strict at that church.

I just can't believe it's $200 for music!!! The other church we wre thinking about only was $50. It's crazy! We are already giving $500 to the church!!! We need 4 songs and that's it!! Nothing crazy! WOW!!

No it won't be that much! I have the handbook. It's $600 if your a non member. $500 if you are a member and then it's $200 for the music!!
I got in touch with the music director and we can only use the songs in the book!! There is this one song we would like to use but I think it needs to be approved. Plus I think it's a Christian song and since we are getting married in a Catholic church we can't use it! No love songs or anything like that. Has to be strictly a church song. Anything from the cd or the handbook. Did you get the Guidelines for engaged couples book? It was given out at the time you sat down with either your priest or deacon! If you have any questions please FM me!

hi girls i just got married at st.joes on the 13th... the ceremony was really beautiful!!!
i had no flower girls so im sorry but i cant help out there
the music.. has to be provided by who they recommend... we had a problem with her so we were looking on the outside and the deacon said it is her responsibilitly to make arrangements to be there and if she cant the church is responsible to find someone to take her place.. its a bit expensive but shes worth it she was really great
as for throwing things outside. we did nothing.. it was kind of awkward when we came out but it was just applause instead.. i was not paying for cleanup of anything nor was i going to use bubbles and stain my dress (this has happened to a friend)

Hi! Thanks for your input!!! Why did you have a problem with her? She seems nice!!! The song is by Steve Chapman 'I will be here' I don't think we can use it. We wanted to use it for the Candle lighting. Please tell me all about your wedding at St. Jos! How far apart are the rooms were you and your husband it. My fh is worried that is gonna walk into me!...lol What song selections did you use? Do you have pics I can see of the church too??
