Calling all people who know about mp3 players!!!

I have a question. I want to know if I purchase a less expensive MP3 player (I mean not one that is $350) more like $100, can I still record songs off the computer that I listen to on Windows media NOT actually downloaded songs. Would this be possible with a $100 MP3 player???

i don't know. w/my ipod - i download the cd that i want and plug my ipod into the computer and upload the cd into the ipod. in other words, the song(s) you want, have to be downloaded. hope this helps.

I don't really understand your question. Usually the mp3 players that are cheaper just have less storage space = less songs fit on it, but it still works the same way.

Oh I was told by someone that the cheaper Mp3 players do less. Yes, they can download songs but for instance I cannot just connect and record a song from computer or stereo I mean a song that has not been actually downloaded. The players $300 and up can download songs maybe like up to 5-10,000 and also record a song played off computer (like a CD) not downloaded. Sorry if sounds confusing I wanted to just record songs from CD on the mp3.

I have the $100 Rio MP3 player and like Julie said it just holds less songs. I can put the songs that are in my windows media, or directly from a cd to my MP3. I bought the one that let's you change the memory card so I can fit more songs on it also.
