I would like to get licensed as a real estate salesperson and do some part-time work on the side to start with.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for schools for licensing, agencies to work for or any type of advice you think would be helpful.
Thanks

Re: Calling all Real Estate Agents - Need some advice
Hi,
I went to Hofstra and wanted to do it part time too. Let me tell you, it is HARD to do part time. But then again I work until 7 every night, so during the week is out for me.
There's a school in Levittown too, I think it's called LISORE.
My advice is to find an agency that will sponsor you, pay for the course, and then you work for them. Typically it's a bigger agency like Century 21 or Prudential.
It's hard, but rewarding if you have the time to dedicate to it. I would like to get back into it more very soon, but I want to go to a bigger agency and get formal training. I went about it a little backwards and never really got trained.
There's a pretty big monetary commitment in the beginning, if you pay for your own schooling and everything else, I would say you'll spend about $750 easy....
