Need some information on these vendors. Pricing, quality, easy to work with...
I know alot of ladies have used both vendors. Just trying to narrow it down to the better of the two.
Any information would be appreciated..

A big difference between the two is that Duet used digital photography while Velvet used film (but can edit digitally) My FH is in the television field, so he really wanted our photographer to use real film- he believes it creates better quality pictures.
I did not meet with Duet, so I can't speak for them, but Velvet has great packages and Bob can really work with you within your budget.
Both of these photographers do fabulous work, so you can't go wrong.

Bob from Velvet is the absolute best! He's easy to work with and his pictures are beautiful. Some of the epics he shot are in my album if you want ot check them out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

i'm another velvet bride and i adore bob. some of my epics are in my album too. he was really flexible with us and accomodating to meet with, since i live far out of state. we wanted to meet with duet, but they were already booked for our date more than 10 months out. however, my cousin used them. their pictures were gorgeous and to my understanding, they got the top of the line video/photog package for just under $5k. this was just last august. tons of people are very happy with duet, but i'm really happy that we picked velvet.

Duet bride here. CAn't speak for Velvet, we never met with them but heard great things about them. Duet was easy to work with..we negotiated a great package and Eric the owner really worked with us to get us what we wanted. We were happy with the photographer we chose (got our choice by picking through the albums) and very happy about the price. FM if you need more details.

OKAY ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS BOB FROM VELVET IS THE BEST .. HIS WORK IS BREATHTAKING AND HIS PRICES ARE GREAT... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VELVET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're using Bob at Velvet. I agree with all of the brides...he's great and very flexible. We live out of state and he's worked with us to take e-pics this weekend (I'll post them when we get them). He has been awesome. We met with him first and then Duet. Duet's price was a little better for everything they give but my dad was a little uncomfortable with them because they refused to write anything on a contract (dad's a lawyer!). We went back to Bob and told him what kind of deal Duet had quoted and he more or less matched it (maybe a few less things). He was also really great about listening to what we want....I loved the way Duet had the storybook with the mix of clasic pics. laser pics etc. When we explained it to Bob, he said no problem. My FH and I also brought him my parents album to duplicate some stuff and he spent a long time with us figuring out how to do it.
I highly recommend him! And he was recommended to me by another bride who is using him, as well as the reception hall.

I met with both and both of them are great!!!!! There prices were both very reasonable. I ended up going with DUET for other reasons. I still think Bob is great though!!

Check out Camacho ......her album pics are stunning & she used velvet!!!! I also have to throw in that I used Thomaspaul and he's amazing as well :) (not to confuse u more or anything lol). anyways, Good Luck!

I visited both Velvet and Duet and ended up booking with Duet. They had a $5000 photo/video package that I didnt negotiate down but I negotiated a lot of extras in. IMO, I thought the quality of duets pictures was higher then Velvets - mainly in the larger portraits.

What got me about DUET was that I found their pricing to be fair and I liked the samples that I saw in their studio. I was able to get both video and pics for about 4,100. They took TONS of pictures and they honored every request I made. I really like my proofs, I was very pleased. I have not gotten my video or album yet so I can't say how that will be. So far my experience was very good with them. I had Jay's team. XOXOXO Kitty

I also had narrowed it down between these 2 photographers.....I truly think you can't go wrong with either of them.....I was getting a little more for my money with Duet, and with the digital pictures, I figured they might take more than Velvet (although you'd get it written into to your contract anyway as to how many pics you'd be getting)......also for me I blink in ALOT of my pics, so I liked the fact that with digital Jay from Duet can automatically check to see if he got a good shot or not. Good luck deciding.....they are both awesome!!

I booked Duet also....after meeting with both. Take a look again at the quality of pictures in the albums at each studio...especially the larger photos.
During the contract process...Duet did add whatever i wanted in writing to the contract.

i booked with velvet...i saw both places..i booked velvet bc bob told me if i paid cash he wouldnt change tax...duet charges tax..plus i liked the sample video from velvet a little better then the sample video of duet...but both offer great prices, pics and video..so u cant go wrong with either!
