Here's mines, a Mon Cheri. Ordered at Best Bridal in the Bridal bldg in midtown, Manhattan. If you're interested FM me - they matched the lowest price I found on the net, & they have a good rating w/BBB so figured why not?
Here's my dress on the model:
& on me - not my size & have on no undergarmets & my reg. bra, but you get the idea - oh yeah & I look terrible:
You all look wonderful, and the dresses are gorgeous!!! Thanks for the congrats, it has taken me over 1 year to lose what I did. I will never be a skinny mini stick, but I do want to lose another 20 or so pounds.

Re: Calling Plus Size girls
I went to Adrienne's in Islip - they had a great selection of larger sizes that you can actually try on! Even if you don't order from them (I did), you can get a great idea of what it's like to actually fit into a dress. My profile has my dress, which is a Mon Cheri that I added sleeves to. Good luck!

Re: Calling Plus Size girls
When you go to try on dresses, is the sizing close to that of normal clothes?? I recently bought a dress for a dinner party that was a size 9/10, so could I logically get a wedding dress in the same size? Just curious.

Re: Calling Plus Size girls
I went to a bunch of places in Suffolk and Nassau. Most places seemed to have a lot of 10s and 12s which I could literally step into, but often the sleeves couldn't be pulled up past mid-arm (and I wanted sleeves.) I think the Macy's Bridal Salon had the best choices - I got my Demetrios gown there. No pics, sorry.

Re: Calling Plus Size girls
I found that Bridal Suite in Patchogue had a huge selection of plus size dresses (a whole room, actually). I didn't end up buying there, but the selection is huge. IMO, it can be really annoying after awhile, when all the salesgirl can find are samples in a size 8 or 10 (that's what I found in Princess Bridal in Patchogue). edited to say: It's annoying because, while you are looking online or in magazines, you see that the dresses you like come in larger sizes, but hardly any salons buy larger samples, so you can't really get a good feel for what the dress looks like. Sorry for the mini vent

IrishTracy & NovBride - thanx for the comps!
WowLifeIsGood: thanx for the comps! I paid exactly $505.85 for my dress.
Wish I had known about a few of these bridal shops when I was first looking! We drove all the way to 2 bridal warehouses in PA to try on plus size dresses as well! It is very frustratinig to see that they have the dress in your size in a magazine ad/internet & then can't find it anywhere to try on. I fell in love w/antoher dress but couldn't seriously consider it cuz I couldn't try it on

Oh forgot to add - the jacket of that dress has sleeves, but the dress itself has spaghetti straps.
