Re: calls from vendors

i got some calls as well ... i think you just gotta 'deal' with it. i found most of them to be very nice and accepting when i say im not interested - or i say 'i havent gotten to flowers yet, but when i do i'll give you a call' (regardless of the truth!). also, it has died down A LOT in the last month or so (i booked north ritz in late may).

Re: calls from vendors

When we first booked our reception hall, we got calls from almost all of their house vendors. Made appointments to meet a couple of them, told some that we'll call if we need them. I didn't find anyone to be annoying or harassing. In a few weeks, they completely died down.

Re: calls from vendors

My FH and I went to see one hall which we did not like. So obviously, did not book. But that didn't stop them from giving out our names. That bothered me alot.

Re: calls from vendors

Yes, it happens after you book your hall. Most are plesant and ok to deal with, but some keep calling.

I had one dj who kept calling me and calling me even after I told him I already booked someone else. He still kept calling and my dad finally told him 'We got Barbara Striesand to sing at the wedding. She's a friend of my wife's. They went to school together'. He never called back again.

Sometimes you have to be creative to get some of them off your back!

Re: calls from vendors

Hmmm, I don't get any junk emails, regular mail or phone calls.

The only calls or mail I receive are from vendors that I directly contacted or when I used Respond.com.

Re: calls from vendors

Guess I got lucky planning from out of state! No one wants to make long distance phone calls!

Re: calls from vendors

I had a horrible time with this in the very beginning. You can put on your machine, 'We have selected all of our wedding vendors so please take us off your list'. After a while the calls stop. The hall gives out your name to their 'preferred' vendors.

Re: calls from vendors

I know, I called the North Ritz Club about this because I did not give them permission to give my phone #to their vendors. They told me that they did not give out my number. After I told them that every vendor that calls says 'we are the preferred vendor of the NRC', they finally said that they only gave it to their preferred vendors. I was getting about two phone calls a day for awhile.

Yes and when I hear its them, I hang up!
I think they get the idea because they haven't called back.
