cameras on tables

cameras on tables

What is everyone doing regarding cameras on the table for the guest to take pics with. I'm kinda torn between actual disposable cameras or having something set up online for guest to upload pics to.

What are you girls doing??

TIA!

i was planning on doing disposables... but now I think im going to just set up the account and tell everyone to upload their pics... that way i dont have to get anything developed...

I thought about the disposables but I heard that sometimes people will just take 5 pictures with it. Then you spent the $$ on the camera and feel bad not developing the film.. but then that's a waste if it wasn't used. I'm not bothering.. I feel like I'm paying enough $$ for a professional photographer and the zap shots that my DJ is supplying.. I don't need a disposable camera.

I would personally NOT do it. My sister did and we spent 150$ (12 cameras) to get doubles for each camera and they were like pics of the floor.....people's boobs....random stuff we didn't care about....it was so sad to spend all that money and not have anything decent come out of it. JMO

I agree. The same thing happened to my sister. There were either really ridiculous pictures or some rolls were blurry or some rolls didnt even get finished. Id rather use that money for something else.

I'm doing one camera per table, except for a couple of friends tables who I know make use of them, lol. For the tables of guests in our generation, we're putting scavenger hunts attached to them. When I get them developed, I'll use coupons and just get it on CD's. If I don't get much, oh well. If they're not all finished, I'm sure my FSS will make use of them, lol. But you never know what's going to be on them. I'm not getting the wedding cameras. I'm getting the kodak or fuji's with flash. I've never had a problem with them. I get them when they are on sale.
I'm also going to set up a snapfish or shutterfly account.
I love pictures, so I'll take as many as I can.

do the online upload route - less hassle and cheaper too!

i love the idea of a scavenger hunt!! have you created it yet?? did you come up with the idea or did you see it somewhere? (clearly i've never heard of it...)

I'm not doing the disposable cameras. From my past experiences at wedding, people don't really use them. Plus, with shutterfly, facebook, etc. it is much easier to get your friends' digital shots nowadays. Between that and my photographer photos, I'm sure I'll be set. I'd rather spend the money on something else. JMO.

I had the same dilemma, but I realized, ithese days, everybody has their own digital cameras and nobody really uses the disposables on the tables

I like the online/upload idea

Re: cameras on tables

we had disposable cameras & had cards printed up on the tables for an online shutterfly webpage for people to upload digital pics.

Out of 14 cameras we had - maybe 3 were completely used. It was kind of a waste of money in hindsight...

Re: cameras on tables

In the past, my friends have asked everyone to send pictures we took with their own digital cameras and they uploaded them onto a website.

I think people are more likely to take better pictures with their own cameras (they can review and discard the ones they hate) and less stupid pointless pictures they'd take with a disposable.

I would not do the disposables...I know that every time I've been somewhere that has had them, all I've done or seen people do is take stupid pictures with them.

My father really wanted them so we did them. We are taking them to be put on cd's, and then only printing images of the ones we like, since many will be poorly lit, etc.

i am setting up a shutterfly account and asking people to upload the pics.

the disposable camera's are expensive to develop and most of the time ppl leave them with a lot of pics left on them. Plus most people have a digital camera so its easier just to ask them to upload the pictures!

i was going to do dis cameras but i think im going to skip it in the end... everyone these days has cameras and i think a website or somthing were they can upload pics to me would be better then spending money on cameras and then money on developling to get the crappy pics that would probably not be worth it to me...
