Re: CAMPING HELP

We usually go upstate. Its about 90 minutes north of the city. Its in Harriman State Park. It has a lake with a beach, bathrooms with showers (although they are slightly dirty), and the town is 30 minutes away, so we were able to go to the store when we forgot stuff. We wanted to go this summer but FH cant get the time off. I love camping!

Kittatinny is the best. It's on the delaware, on the NY/PA border. I go every year, have gone for 10 years now. Clean bathrooms, great wooded sites (and ones on a creek or on the river if you want that) - also they have sites in a field, not my thing but if you like that, they have it. They have a rafting / canoe company too, and they drive you back to the base you left from, a few different trip options.

The campground I go to is in Barryville, but they have another called River Beach that is in Milford PA I think. That one is about 30 mins closer to LI but I think the Barryville one is much better - it has a camp store and is the main campground, so it's bigger, more wooded, etc.

I've been camping since I was 5 and this place is one of the best I've ever been to.

Ive never been there myself but my whole family goes up to Keen Lake in Penn.. Its only about a 3 hour drive and they love it. I believe they have a web site if you wanna try googling it.

I like to go camping here, but its fake camping, bathrooms, showers, electricity and the camp sites are pretty close together. I went last weekend and had a blast, only down side was a HUGE group of people having a party and they were really loud and they also woke us up at 5am. So if your FH is ok with having the campsite really close to each other I would recommend this place. They have paint balling and rafting on site.

They are not ALL close to eachother. And you can get them without water and electric too - ask for the 400s. I always get site 440, best site the place has - right on the creek, not really near anyone, no water or electric there. If you go into the 500s, you can still drive to the bathrooms, but there are outhouses up there if that's more your thing - it's close to really roughing it.
