okay so, i know there aren't 'rules' -- but i mean, if a girl finds a bridesmaid's dress in a traditional bridal color - is it tacky? even if its not a 'bridal gown'?
i feel we will be having a pretty casual wedding but i wanted to know what you ladies think.
TIA.

Re: can a bride wear a 'bridesmaid' dress?
Yes!! That is completely fine. I have heard of brides doing that before and you can end up saving a lot. Designers tend to charge a lot more for wedding dresses than for BM dresses.

definately!! i even told my parents to look at bridesmaids dresses instead of the MOB/MOG dresses. the price difference is $$$$$$

I was thinking of doing this also because 1)my wedding will be very casual 2) I have been married before but I was talked out of it by friends and my mom. They all told me a that it looked like a bridesmaid dress and that I shouldnt look like I was part of the bridal party.I wish the didnt talk me out of it because the dress I picked was very pretty.

Of Course!!!!!! Definetly a money saver! & some bridesmaid dresses you cant even tell that they were meant to be for bridesmaids and not brides! I say go for it!

you can totally get away with that. i think a lot of bridesmaid dresses in white look like bridal gowns to begin with.

Re: can a bride wear a 'bridesmaid' dress?
My sister did this and she looked beautiful!! it was a simple, classic style. And she's skinny and 5'10' so she didn't even need to get it altered!!

Totally! Wear the dress that you feel comfortable in...plus it is a great way to save money, bridesmaid dresses are so much less expensive than the bridal gowns
