Can anyone help me make the Bm cards with their dresses?

I love those cards that Ive seen where the girls dresses are on them, but I am far from crafty, can anyone help me by telling me how they made theirs? I obly have two MOH's, thats it, so I only need to make two cards, the problem is one is pregnant and is wearing a maternity dress. Would this be hard to make, and if not, do I get all of the supplies at Michaels? Im clueless, but Id really love to attempt making these....sooooo..if anyone could help me..I would be so appreciative!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!

Not sure how helpful this will be, but I made cards for my 2 MOH's. I actually used a swatch from their dresses (I had requested one from the manufacturer so I could bring it with me for the florist and to see how dark the color was). Basically, I found a picture of the cards online and then just copied the 'hanger' onto the computer and I think I used Word to create the front of the card. I had the hanger printed on the top and then the wording on the bottom leaving space between to put the dress. Then I cut out the 'dresses' from the swatch (mine were 2 piece dresses and I tried to cut the swatches to look similar) then I glued them under the image of the hanger with some craft glue.
This is the picture I used as a template. It was actually really easy.

I used Laura @ LA Productions - they were very inexpensive and she did a BEAUTIFUL job!!!

I just got the materials from Michaels and used the same dress for everyone--I didn't get specific with the dresses. Believe me, I was @ the end of the line when they handed out the crafty talent if i can do it, so can you! LOL good luck, let us know how they come out!

Thanks everyone!!!! Oneday, that card is so cute..i dont know if I can do this! Does Laura at laproductions have a website? Im not familiar with her and maybe I could just have them made for me..I think if I do them they'll look like a 6 year old got a hold of some material...It wont be pretty, Ill watse more money trying t make them over and over rather than pay someone to make them..but I want a maternity dress for one MOH..I have to figure out how to do this...thanks everyone!!!

I cant figure out how I would make my sisters maternity style, I could stuff a cotton ball in the belly, but then it may not fit in the envelope...what pound card stock is good for this card? And then do you have it scored at kinko's/ This is all very new to me..Im confused!!

be as creative as you want. I am making mine.
Choose the type of paper you want to use for the card. I am using creme for the dress to be glued on, then a larger sie rose pink paper for the inside (gives the card a layered/border look). Attaching by punching holes and tying with ribbon.
1. Get ribbon, material, dress swatches, etc and simple fold if over to form a loop.
Glue the 2 ends together, then glue the back to the card.
2. Cover the ends with a piece of paper that matches the material in the shape of the top (strappless, straps, sweatheart shape, etc.)
3. You can buy mini hangers in michaels/joans, or draw them.

Make sense????

I am making one for FG & each parent too and adding butterflies to the cards and a poem inside.

I love the cards from frills and yummies, they are socute, but they dont have anything that even resmebles our dresses unfortuantely...theyre cards are sooooooo cute...if they had anythig even close I would have ordered them!!!

I made them with material and puffy paint. I also bought greeting card paper for my printer. I made the bottom piece with fabric and puffy paint for the top since I was having trouble with cutting the fabric for the top. I glued the one side down with the end on the inside and then glued the other side down with the end on the inside and then folded the top of the fabric down and glued it and then placed a rose in the corner.

I dont know if that made sense.

Michaels and other card making stores (scbooking also) have those premade 'extras'. I know I have seen a bm dress in one. (I'm not sure if it looks like yours .) They have the wedding cake, brides dress, everything! Why not buy the 'premade' stuff and assemble the card yourself with a special note inside!

You could also buy stamps and print the card. I am sure Michaels has alot of weeding themed stamps. Maybe add a few other details, like ribbon? or a flower in your colors. They will love it, cus it came from you.

Im so excited, Linda's lovelies may be able to have a maternity dress made for my cards!!! YEA!!! Id rather just pay someone to make it for me..Im not talented in the craft area and my cards would be a wreck..if i have someone do it for me..im guranteed a nice card!!!

jenny2penny...yours sounds really nice...I think I am just afirad that Iwont be able to cut the dress right, that it will look sloppy! How do you glue the hanger on to the card, is it wire? Will glue hold it? See..I am clueless!!!!

I did mine the same way as Jenny2Penny did & got everything from Michael's. I just bought a pack of blank cards with envelopes. I only made the BM dresses though. For the FG's I actually just bought little dresses in the scrapbooking section.
