I was working on a PowerPoint all day yesterday. I was positive I saved it to my desktop, but can't find it. I searched all files for the file name and title, and can't find it, though the template shows as the most recently used template. Can anyone help? TIA!

Re: Can anyone help with a computer problem?
you can search for all files with that extension (enter '*.ppt')
Also, power point may save stuff in it's only folder if you are not paying attention & tell it otherwise. Acrobat does this & saves PDFs under progam files-Adobe-Acrobat-PDF files, so ti may be soemthin like that.

Thanks! I searched for all .ppt files, all files modified yesterday (when I was working on it), and nothing! I am freaking out.

You still didn't find it? I saw you also asked on LIF- those suggestions didn't help either? Did you put the asterix when you searched by file type? Did you check the template --to make sure you didn't save it as a template instead of a new file?

Re: Can anyone help with a computer problem?
u need to search hidden files (you have a autosave ppt on your computer)
open My Computer
Click on Tools
Click folder options
Click View
Check 'Show hidden files and folders' and Uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types'
Then do a search on *.ppt files on the whole computer. click on anything that looks odd to check for auto save documents (unsure if it will have a different name or not'
Reverse the above steps when your done.

It may be sitting in your temp folder. I can't tell you how many times I saved something to that folder and thought it disappeared.
