Preferably something different...I was thinking Moroccan

We are going out to diner for my bachelorette party-- but I want it to be a new experience

yep, I second that one... on the exotic side there's Ghenet (ethiopean), persepolis (persian), and pasha (turkish)

I have to always recommend my FAVORITE RESTAURANT OF ALL TIME

artisanal - a fromagerie / bistro (combo french bistro / cheese shop). The most amazing fondues and wine-by-the-glass list ever.... it's also a short walk to penn station

I have never eaten Moroccan food, but my parents frequently eat at Cafe Mogodor and Sahara East. Here's a link to some Moroccan restaurants in Manhattan.

Some awesome non-Moroccan restaurants that I do recommend are:

Dok Suni's - first avenue between 7th and St. Marks - my fiance's favorite Korean restaurant.
Mitali East - 'Little India Row' 6th street bet. 1st and 2nd avenues - this is THE best Indian restaurant in Manhattan.
And for dessert, you HAVE TO go to Veniero's. First avenue and 12th. EVERYTHING there is unvelievable.
