Can anyone recommend where to go kayaking/canoeing on LI?
FH wants us to go kayaking or canoeing but we don't know where to go. Any recommendations? Thanks!

never done it here but heard great things about canoeing on the nissequogue river. if you do a search online, you'll find plenty about it

You can go either on the Peconic River or the Carman river! I have done both and they are both sooo much fun! Peconic is an all day deal, while the Carman's will take you about 3 hours. DH and I did the Carmans upper river trip last month and had a really nice time! Go to these sites for more info:

I suggest the Peconic River in Riverhead. My whole family went last summer. We had a terrific time! We rented canoes and my brother brought his kayak. It is an all day excursion though. I love when you have to go through the tunnels and under the LIE!

I agree with the Peconic River also. I went when I was younger... it was nice.
