I don't have them, but after a while they don't seem to be all to clear.
What about the ones inside your mouth, or the invisalign.

Re: Can anyone tell me about clear braces?
I had two friends who had clear braces. You can still see them and they turn yellow (JMO)... are you talking about regular braces? or the invisalign?
The invisalign is supposed to completely clear, HOWEVER, my friend who is a hygenist at an orthodontist office does not recommend invisalign, you have to go like every 2 weeks or something to have it adjusted. Much more visits then reg. braces.

my sister did the invisalign braces - I think they were just clear molds that you wear a certain number of hours a day. But you can take them out at any time. They worked great for her.
I don't think any of the braces that are attached to your teeth are very clear or invisible.

Well, I'm not that close to getting them yet, but my dentist told me to start thinking about it.
He also advised against the invisaline (they actually come out of your mouth for brushing/cleaning). He said it's twice the work and twice the amount of time to wear them.
I asked about the ones that go in the back of your teeth, and he said I'm not a candidate.

Re: Can anyone tell me about clear braces?
I had clear braces as a kid, and they weren't clear at all. I mean, they were, but they got yellow really easily (like if you eat curry, or drink coffee), and would stay yellow until you went to get your bands changed. They also left spots on my teeth (not really noticable to anyone but myself, unless I point them out) I'd look into invisalign, or those braces that go on inside.

Re: Can anyone tell me about clear braces?
How bad is your problem? I mean, do you have a real reason for needing them or is it something small and purely cosmetic? I don't know if I would waste my time and money if it was just a cosmetic thing, unless it's something that makes you really self concious. I had to get them because my mouth was too narrow. Seriously, between the spots that they left, and how my teeth have begun to shift, I'm wondering why I bothered.

Re: Can anyone tell me about clear braces?
There is a real reason. Cosmetically, my teeth are dealable. Nothing too bad at all. But my teeth are crowded, and my jaw is starting to have issues because of the alignment problem. I am on the path to severe TMJ and I'm currently being fitted for a nightbrace. I have a few problems towards the back where one tooth is bent inward, causing problems when I bite. I grind when I sleep also which makes the problems worse.
So...it's purely for my own eventual comfort, and long term dental care that I get them. I don't want my teeth to start falling out when I'm 40.
I guess I'll just take it one step at a time....

I guess if you take really good care of them, and drink colorless liquids and don't eat foods that will stain, you can keep them relatively clear. If you need them to prevent huge dental problems, then they're definitely worth it. I'd rather have braces for a while than dentures forever. Here are some pics I found of celebs with braces. Tom Cruise, you can barely see his braces, in fact I questioned whether or not he had them on in this pic, but it was on some dental site, and it said that the pic was of him with them same with Isaac Hanson (I was just looking for people with braces, his ugly mug happened to have a good clear pic.) but look at prince Harry his teeth look nasty I looked everywhere for a pic of Gwen Stefani when she had her braces, but most of her pics were with her mouth closed.
