I speak Spanish. Though I dont tell people because it is a hell of a lot of fun to have people talk about you in their language and then bust them. It happens all the time.

Re: Can Anyone Write in Spanish?
Tania helped me, thanks! I only know one phrase in Spanish, and it's a pretty bad one that I'm never supposed to repeat. I learned it in Puerto Rico from some cute local boys when I was 21

DH is learning Spanish and he loves this too -- it keeps him wanting to become more fluent! As it is he surprises people with how much Spanish he can speak!

Ok, so we kind of Hijacked, but you did get the help you needed, right?
My roomate in college , the unsuspecting Polish girl from Connecticut, speaks Spanish very well, for someone that only learned inschool & there were a lot of native speakers in our school , so she would always translate for me & tell me what she overheard! It was fun.

I don't care, don't be silly! it evolved and the stories are pretty funny. We have Air France in our building and the people are constantly talking in French about our employees (we take up a lot of floors) and one girl totally called them out on it and they were shocked. We were hysterical. She told them off.

I am Jewish and I can read hebrew but I can't understand a lot of it. I never used it past Hebrew school.
Spanish was easy to learn and maintain. It (foreign language) was a high school and college requirement (as well as a requirement for part of my teaching licenses). I was (and still am) fortunate enough to be exposed to many latino people from different countries to help maintain my conversational Spanish.
