Can anything else go wrong? I bet it can

So let's recap the last horrible 4 days...
-limo hel_ (read warning post)
-my great aunt died, while she was very ill for a long time and I know she is happier now and at peace it still totally $uck$
-get this: I am one of those brides who made it a priority to really like the Priest that was going to marry us. It was very, very important to me. When I moved to this area I went to Mass and really just loved the Priest. Well I got a call yesterday from the Chuch secretary....my Priest has been transferred to a NEW parish. His last is 11/1 so the new priest will be preforming my ceremony And I get to met him at my rehersal. Isn't that perfect!
-the new manager at the Hamlet Wind Watch was supposed to run my wedding since I have had a few problems with the catering manager in the past and felt more comfortable with someone else running the wedding. Guess what? He got fired yesterday! So now I have to pray that the catering manager and I can get along and my wedding runs smoothly.
-Oh, and something happened at work that was a huge dissapointment. The company was in the process of being sold and I would have gotten a nice package to stay thru the sale and transition then I would finally be free of the 2-hour each way commute, and have money while enjoying the summer and trying to find something closer to home. The sale fell thru so the light at the end of the 2-hour commute trunnel is not shinning anymore
-And last, but I am sure not least, my aunt decided to convert her guest room into an office. Now normally I would NOT care at all, but I am getting ready at her place along w/4 of my girls and my Mom and stepmother. I needed the guest room for all of the gowns, etc.....Now I have to figure out where to store my gown until my wedding day (and Scott and I live together so that is not an option) and she is allowing me to use her bedroom. But what about everyone else? The guest room was one of the reasons I asked her to use her home. If not I would have stayed in a large suite at the hotel. My stepmom's house will be x-full with out of town family so my dress will not easily be stored there and my Mom smokes so I will not put it in hers.
This week has totally been the worst. Sorry to vent and have a pity-party but I am at a total lose today. Not to mention really tired since we got up at 5am to drive 3 hours upstate for my Aunt's funeral.

Re: Can anything else go wrong? I bet it can

Michelle I am so sorry about the loss of your aunt. It does sound like you are having a hectic week. (Infact things like this happen to me all the time). Here is what I recommend. Take time to breathe. Realize that at this point you really cant control the events that will happen until your wedding. Focus on the positive. In a week you will be marrying the man of your dreams. When it comes down to it, this is all our wedding day is about. I know it ****s because you work so hard to plan and make things perfect. Try to stay positive and dont let all these 'snags' ruin the week leading up until your wedding. If you ever need to talk let me know. I hope things turn around for you. -Christy

Re: Can anything else go wrong? I bet it can

I can't even imagine how you are feeling. Please accept my condolences for your aunt. As far as eveyhting else, it will get better. It may not seem that way now but I'm sure it WILL work out. You and Stef have planned for your days very extensively and detailed. It will work out. Breathe and relax. I'm not overly religious but I honestly believe that God doesn't give you anything he thinks you can't handle. Stay strong

Re: Can anything else go wrong? I bet it can

So sorry to hear about this past week :(

Again, sorry to hear about your aunt.

4 wks before my wedding, the catering mgr left the company, and I freaked - his replacement was fine, and I had nothing to worry about. I'm sure you'll be in good hands, but I can understand your concern.

That's too bad about the priest. Is there any way to meet with him earlier this week and prepare? Will he be running the rehearsal at least?

Wow, Michele. Doesn't it seem like when it rains, it pours?

So sorry to hear about your aunt. I hope that you and your family can find peace and strength in the memories you have of her.

Take things one at a time. You've got all together, girl! You've put some much love and consideration into your wedding planning...it'll all work out.

At this time next week, you will be a happy Mrs.

Re: Can anything else go wrong? I bet it can

Michele-
I'm very sorry to hear about your aunt. I'm also very sorry to hear of all these last minute disappointments...

I agree that you should call your church and see if you can meet with the priest before the rehearsal - I'm sure that will put your mind at ease a little.

As for your dress - do you have a good friend who can keep it at their house? Maybe one of your bms?

I know you're disappointed about the situation at your hall......but I'm sure once you're married to the man of your dreams, the reception will be WONDERFUL no matter who is working there. Your catering hall has a great reputation for a reason, and I'm sure they will do everything in their power to keep it that way!

Keep your chin up, and always feel free to vent.

*big hugs*

Re: Can anything else go wrong? I bet it can

Michele...I'm sorry that you have so much stress one week before your wedding...this is a lot to deal with...take each day as it comes and try to remember that you will be married to a wonderful man in less than a week...Have you considered a 'day of' coordinator...I'll do it for you for free if you need someone...

definitely get a message this week!!

Re: Can anything else go wrong? I bet it can

Michele, Im sorry to hear about your aunt.
I know it seems like everything is going wrong but on 11/2 everything will be soooo right when you and Scott become one. I know it s**ks,and is nerve wrecking b/c I would be too, but sometimes change is good. Relax, go get a massage and a facial and let the relaxation try to woosh all your troubles away. I speak from experience ; I have a Charlie Brown Cloud over my head 24-7. Something is always going wrong, but I keep on going with my chin up and wait for the clouds to clear again. Dont worry the best day of your life awaits you.
