Can dogs collars get caught on their crate?
Should I take it off him when I go to work?

Re: Can dogs collars get caught on their crate?
Yes, dogs can get their collars caught on wire crates. I always take Satchmo's collar off when he is in his crate.

Re: Can dogs collars get caught on their crate?
my dog was never crated. however, one time, she was in the back yard and her collar got caught on the chain link fence and it almost choked her. she really injured her neck and the vet told us that while somthing like that is rare, there should always be room between the collar and dog's neck to fit 2 fingers in case something does happen, there is room to give.

YES!Thats why some collars are made now to 'break away' even though I cant see how that is safe if you are walking the dog outside.

Actually, the vet recommends a harness for a Pug because there is less of a chance to collapse their trachea. It is recommended for most smaller dogs.

I put the harness on to walk him but I leave the collar on him during the day w/ the id tags w/ his name. I will just put it on him when i get home.
