Can I ask for this for is this abnormal?

Original post by alioop4282

Ok..
Please don't think I'm crazy but I really want my dog to be at my ceromony. I'm getting married outside. Is it even normal to ask if they will allow this?

You're NOT crazy. I wanted my dog to be in our wedding but the church would never go for it. So we're getting him a tuxedo outfit and he's going to be in the pics. I think if the hall alows it, go for it! Plus, it's a total crowd pleaser. Your guests will love it and never forget it.

Definitely ask...it wouldn't hurt. My friend wanted her dog to be in her ceremony, but decided last minute against it. I think it's a great idea.

Thanks to all of you guys!
I wasn't going to ask but now I definitely will.
I hope they say yes and I'll keep you posted!
Having him there would make me so happy...I love him and he should be there to share that part of the day.

I was planning on having my dog Copper as my ring bearer, the place we are getting married had no problem with it, as long as he was well behaved. I was REALLY happy. just recently we found out he has lymphoma, and in all likleyhood would not make it to the wedding. But I will cross my fingers and pray because he is a HUGE part of my life, Iv'e had him for 10 years...much longer than my FH

Everyone is crazy about this dog, and thinks it's great that he can be in the wedding.

Good Luck to you!

I hope he makes it to the wedding. I'm crossing my fingers for you. I'm so sorry to hear that he's sick. My dog, Jack will be four by the time I get married. He is really well behaved to and I've had him also before I met my FH. He's a huge part of my life too..I can't sleep without him. He really is like a son to me and a best friend. Some people who don't have dogs may not understand that I guess..but I love him so much and can't think of my wedding day without him being a part of it.

I think it's becoming trendy actually - I feel like I've seen a lot of pictures recently of dogs in tuxedos walking with the bridal party. And if he's sick, maybe you can put him in a white wagon and have the flower girl and boy pull him in. I think it'd be really cute.

Well I think you should def. do it then. My dog is 10...so imagine another 6 years of attachement. i have an 8 month old...but he is too much a wild man for the wedding. If you need a doggie tux, I have a large one. It was too big for my dog, so I bought fabric to make a tuxedo bandana for him. I won't make it till we get really close to the wedding, the Vet only gives my dog about 2 months..the wedding is in 5. BUt hey maybe a Miracle will happen, he seems there is nothing wrong with him right now, we have him on medication etc....But it's one of those things where they fade fast I guess.I try not to think about it, I make myself sick.

My 10 year old is the red doggie...I LOVE HIM!!! SO I can relate to you, It will be wonderful to share that day with him...they are our children for goodness sake.

Omg..you're making me cry.
HE IS going to make it..don't think like that.
I know you have to be realistic but still...I want him at your wedding and for that reason, I will not take you tuxedo. I wamt your doggie there with you. And because he wants to be there, he will make it.
