I would so rather have people call me or email me than paying for the RSVP, and more postage... Besides they can get lost in the mail and I already have too much mail LOL
Is that really bad or is it becoming more common practice. I mean probably 80% of the people invited are people I talk with often anyway...

Re: Can I go without RSVP cards?
It is not common practice at all to skip the RSVP card. I don't mean this rudely, but I don't know how else to say it... I think it would look tacky. People would definitely frown upon that. I know I sound like a b!tch, but that's my honest opinion.

Re: Can I go without RSVP cards?
Me too, not everyone has a computer I cant see the ol timers emailing but I could be wrong and to depend on the phone hmmmm some may be hesistant b/c they feel oh when I call I have to talk and ask her about her plans and I dont have the time for that, I would def send the response especially since I read in another post that your FH is very wealthy they may comment on the etiquette.

I think you should include the response cards. However, if you really don't want to, you can track your RSVPs through the weddingchannel.com. Just make sure to tell your guests to RVSP there.

Re: Can I go without RSVP cards?
Thats what I mean - have an account at theknot.com where they can RSVP too. it just seems that paper invitations cost way more than for free for free and I dont think its that important to me. My FHs family is wealthy but if they are going to frown at me for not including RSVP cards they can stuff it LOL. I have more important things to worry about LOL I dont know anyone on my list who doesnt ahve a computer...
BTW - I meant common practice as in communication.. Email and phone as opposed to mail.

Really I wish my grandparents and aunts and uncles and their cousins were computer literate. cant see 85 yr old great aunt getting on computer, but this is a new day of age if you wanna go with it try it, but I dont think its the right thing to do. sorry. Remember I have heard the invitation is the first impression your guest get about your wedding.

Re: Can I go without RSVP cards?
In complete honesty - if anyone bothered to help out, even one cent, with anything.. maybe Id be more into doing it, but I just dont have the $$. When we got engaged I had NOTHING saved. Were talking.. nothing in the bank... nothing.. LOL nothing.... So I am saving every penny Im making now until August LOL and then some Im sure... I guess I could do it but how much more are we talking? LOL

Re: Can I go without RSVP cards?
in the grand scheme of things, the price of postage on RSVP cards is really minimal. it's also part of the excitement receiving the RSVPs in the mail!

Re: Can I go without RSVP cards?
I would not suggest you skip the RSVP cards, but if you're worried about costs, do a nice 'seal and send' invite...it's basically a nice invite and the bottom part tears off and is the RSVP card, the postage is less (.20 cents) and you save money.
Go to www.easiestwedding.com to see more. Here are some examples: Rexcraft Seal N Sends
ETA: This is the price for the above, and there are other designs...
I know, look I dont want to be greedy.. I know most of us are footing the bill ourselves... but when your inlaws have lets just say LOTS... I wish they would offer.. Theres 7 months left and my FH doesnt want to ask... My parents are just making it and if they offered Id feel bad...
They talked about helping us out before we were engaged but now I havent heard anything... who knows...
As I said, I dont want to sound greedy, we will do it without them... but were REALLY struggling... I need to cut corners here and there unless someone helps out somewhat..
BTW - I found out today Im getting a raise as of Tuesday! Its not much but it came at a great time!!

Re: Can I go without RSVP cards?
Hi Amy, I'm Sasha...
How many do you need? The seal n send I posted is under $100 for 100 and there are cheaper ones...definitely a great way to go. No reply envelope, no double envelope, save on stamps, still have a response card.
