With 10 days to go, I am second guessing every aspect of my wedding. I'm being ridiculously hard on myself in these final days because I can't help but wonder if everything will be 'good enough'.
I don't expect other people to care about my wedding nearly as much as I do, but I'm so upset and frustrated that some key people (MOG, BMs for example) have been either MIA, rude or doing half-assed jobs when they actually 'help' me.
Dan and I had a long talk about it last night and I know that he can feel my sadness and frustration. I just hope that with my venting to him and on here that I can start to really look forward to all of the good things that will happen in the next few weeks.

Tons of your way!!! It is sad to hear that when it comes down to the final days you are not happy & are second guessing every decision you made! You should not be doing this!
Like you said, no one but your FH & you will be paying attention to all the little details & that is ok! Just remember what is really important & that is You are marrying your FH & starting a new life together as husband & wife!!!! That is all that matters!
As for your BM, MOG & what not, it is hard to hear they are not there for you in your time of crunch but then again, I don't think people understand what us brides go through the last days! I have been feeling the same way & it hurts that my FMIL is not on the same boat as me! But then again, there is nothing I can do, just grin & bear it!
Having a long talk with FH was the best thing to do & I am sure he is right there with you!!!

Melissa, anytime you need a drink, let me know. I am in the city- so whenever you're around and in need, let me know.
beside that, you cannot control what other people do unfortunately. However, YOU will be a gorgeous bride and have a beautiful affair. you picked a gorgeous hall, and your hafl-assed helpers are not in charge of anything really vital- your flowers, your music, your food- are all being handled by professionals. anything not done to your specifications will only be noticed by you.
and oh yeah, I hope you saved the receipts from your BP's gifts...I would have NOT ONE QUALM about sending some stuff back if they don't DESERVE to be thanked as much as you have.

Melissa, I am right there with you! FH & I have an unattainable standard that we have to live up to!!! I use to get so upset & finally I realized that the only thing that matters to me is the fact that FH & I will be married & our reception reflects us as a couple & celebrates our new life! I could care less who is happy & who is sad!!!
My FMIL has made this wedding process the worst for me & friends of mine will tell you, I have finally learned to shrug her off & do what I want to do as FH & I are paying....
it is so common & easy to loose sight of the things that matter the most & that is your FH & you!!! So remember that in the next 10 days! If you ever need the reassurance, I am here for you
You are going to be a Bride in 10 days & then enjoying married life!!!

It is difficult when our expectations do not meet with what those around us produce. Keep it all in perspective. Some people just are not capable of a lot... be thankful for the friendships you have and all will work out in the end. Soon we will be a bride and all that happened before will mean nothing when your on your honeymoon!!!!

Mel, you will be a beautiful bride, and on that day everything will fall into place. They are not helping you now? Well you know what they say, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself!!! At least then no one else can complain about things because they did not contribute!!!
You and Dan will have a wonderful day, and it will all be over before you know it. So just sit back, relax and enjoy these few days while you have them. Get a massage, get drunk on New Years, anything to get your mind off things!!
And remember we're here if you need help with anything!! And we would probably do a better job!!
