Can you tell me the color of the carpet at the last 3 weddings you attended? Didn't think so.

Nobody is going to be looking at the carpeting, especially once the room is all decorated.

This is exactly how I feel. I personally can not remember what the floor looked like at any wedding that I have ever attended. People will be eating, drinking, dancing. No one will be talking about the carpet, or remember it the next day.

Not at all. I'm one of those girls who notices the little details... how the centerpiece matches the place settings and the programs to the invitations to the room to the favor. I think it's a rarity though. Just don't go too overboard with it! You don't want to drive yourself crazy to get everything absolutely correct and perfect.

When looking for my RH my requirements were
1) no carpet
2) high ceillings
3) Great food


I got married at the Bourne Mansion and it was sooo stunning -- th ewhite walls, super high RH room, and the food was to die for.

The service was top notch -- you nver saw the MD -- but we always had a drink in our hands, had food packed up for us -- and they took care of our bp and mob, fob, mog, fog

I'm jealous... I thoguth the same thing about the bourne mansion..the white walls I wanted the high ceilings and the hardwood floors...gorgeous! The 5000 site fee didn't appeal to me thought and I hear they dropped it but raised their prices ...I guess places out there do exist... I just can't afford them!

THAT I HATE CARPETS! Every RH i go to i hate the damn carpet! why do they have to be so ugly!!!! i swear i am going to make a RH with white french walls and hard wood floors ... completely customizable to my liking with no crazy colored carpet stopping me!! grrrr! I AM NUTS!

I completely understand! We're getting married at Giorgio's and I'm not too worried about the carpet, they told us it would be replaced before our 2012 wedding and my mom started freaking out wanting to know what they picked! lol

So funny... I love everything about Giorgio's but the one thing was the color and condition of the carpet.... After they told me they were changing it to a more neutral color before my wedding next November, I was VERY happy & booked there! Let's just hope it's not a disgusting color carpet!!

I am SO with you. I HAAAATED so many carpets at places we looked. The one place we loved (OFC) didn't have ugly arse carpets, but was also almost 2 hours drive for our guests I feel like you have to pick your battles sometimes, especially if you are on a budget like me. I ended up with a place that I love everything about except the carpet, but I'm just hoping no one notices!!

OLD FIELD CLUB!!!

We looked at 15-20 different venues and hated them all, the only other one besides OFC that we liked was in Poughkeepsie. OFC has beautiful wood floors and doesn't look like the typical RH with gold all over. Definitely check it out!! FM me if you want more pics or details!

I am happy I'm not the only one with RH issues I don't care about carpets as long as they are not red.... the two things I can't stand are natural wood especially dark and chandeliers (had them in my home growing up they are dust collectors) that's the only reason I'm at Brentwood with a descent size budget (it wasn't price) I was about to do a backyard wedding to stay away from chandeliers but I don't like nature

My main requirement was no carpets and also chairs that don't need chair covers. We booked at the Watermill in their Carnegie room (it fits upto 70-90 people). It also has the beautiful walls you talk about

NRC has carpets....was just married there and a few weeks later I barely remember the carpets. I think it was reddish, nothing offensive.

Not sure about WM or FH.

I totally hear you!!! I went to a couple of places and HAAATED the window treatments and had to leave, lol.

I would DEFINITELY check out the Royalton. My cousin just got married there this past Friday and it was GORGEOUS and not a stitch of carpeting anywhere. The place is great! It was the second time I was a guest there and I haven't been disappointed yet.

I live in elmont literally on the boarder or franklin square.. my backyard neighbors are franklin square! Lol both of our parents had their weddings at st catherines..love it :)
