Seriously!!!! And I love people who act like it's an epidemic. Like, it's ok to be around gay people - it's not contagious!!!!! Ugh! And I'll NEVER understand why they can't get legally get married. Apparently they aren't capable of real love

lol, I'm always trying to get my friend to have a wedding or commitment ceremony and it makes him nutso. his partner is all for it. and i told them to adopt a baby. he yelled 'I AM NOT BUYING A BABY!' lol

They SHOULD do it, why not?? My cousin, who is basically my brother did it!! He and his partner have 3 kids also, 2 girls and a boy that they adopted.

THIS. how does someone else's relationship affect your own? i got into this debate the other day at work and i was FUMING. the other person's argument was that it was an abomination and it somehow affects the sanctity of marriage. my question to him was how does Jim and John marrying each other affect your marriage with your wife?

he had no answer. shocking.

this and it comes back to the whole separation of church and state!!! How can you make a law based on religious beliefs??? what if someone's religion was that they had to marry a same sex partner? the they cant discriminate agains religion.

I am catholic but I have never believed that marriage is suppose to be between an man and a women.... Did anyone ever watch 'I now pronounce you chuck and larry?' its a perfect perfect perfect example of everything that we are talking about. FH has a best friend from hs that is gay and they got married in nantucket in a commitment ceremony, and they are two of the most amazing men I have ever met. they are hilarious, loving, hard working people. how in any way shape or form does that effect anyone... i would be more concerned with the pedofile living down the street.

Sometimes i feel like saying he's not asking you to sleep in the bed with him and his bf so what difference does it make to you. As long as your kid (in FH's cousin's case his dad and grandparents dont want to hear anything about it) is happy, healthy and with someone that treats him/her right then you should be happy.

I agree!! My brother is gay but only out to me and my mom. I don't think he will ever tell my family and it really upsets me bc it causes him so much anxiety. And he will never introduce or tell my mom about any love interests which upsets her. I truly believe that my family would be 100% fine with it but it's not my place to tell anyone. I get so mad when people say it's a 'choice' bc my brother always says ' why would I choose to be different?' It's the way people are born!!! You should love the person because of who they are!!

that makes me so sad :( I wish he could feel ok with coming out. My friend's son just recently came out and she was so upset bc she worries that people are going to be cruel to him. she's ok w him being gay. she doesn't care. I told her, omg you're so lucky! haha. she thinks i'm nutso.

anyway i hope one day people learn tolerance and your brother can feel ok being honest with who he is...and you can find out all the deets on the love interest too! :)

This is so terrible, i feel so badly for him that he feels like he cant be himself with of all people his mom. I'm sure its a hard step to take, but I can imagine it'd be a huge weight lifted from his shoulders if he did.
