Can I say this on invite? With new question

Can I say this on invite? With new question

Okay, so Fh and I are footing the bill for the wedding, but out of respect we would like to include our parents names--not just 'together with our families' on the invite--without implying that one set paid for the wedding. So here's what we're thinking. Is it okay?

Krista Mylastname
to
Thomas Hislastmame

children of Mr. and Mrs. Mylastname and
Mr. and Mrs. Hislastname

request the honour of your presence

etc, etc, etc....

Update: I posted below, but I should add that my parents have a different last name than I do, so I feel like I kind of have to repeat the last names. Ugh...what to do!

it sounds beautiful...it is your wedding...you are entitled to do as you wish...besides, it was your parents who got you to this point today, so why not give them some recognition?!

I once saw this done as:

The honour of your presence is requested
at the wedding of
Bride X
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. X
to Groom Y
son of Mr. and Mrs. Y

That's fine, very nice, but I wouldn't put your last names twice. Also, the names should mirror each other. If you put your first names, your fathers' first names should be there. If you go with first and middle, your fathers' first and middle names should be there.

I'd put

Kara Patrice
and
Todd Charles

children of Mr. and Mrs. First Middle KarasLastName
and Mr. and Mrs. First Middle ToddsLastName

I think I prefer it this way, except again, the last names shouldn't be repeated -- the bride and groom shouldn't have their last names listed, just the parents. Otherwise, it's unnecessarily repetitive.

i agree with kara---you can put your names...but no need for the last names again, it might look a little redundant

Thx., the problem is that my parents have a different last name than me, so I'd have to put my last name. My father is really my step-father but I don't use the term.

I like this way better also.
