So - many of you know my older sister and matron of honor lives in NC. She comes and visits and we go to her but I miss her like crazy.
She came to visit last weekend as a surprise to see the puppy - it was soooooooo nice!!!! BUT - every five minutes she would get a call or text from her new NC friends.
We're going to Disney together from 8/9-8/15 and I really really really want that time to just be for us. Even though I'm happy (kind of) that she found friends down there, I dont want to share her while we're away.
Whenever I look at her myspace or facebook I get super pissed because I see her having so much fun with her new friends. I want her here so badly It makes me so jealous. Even though I know its not true it feels like her new friends have replaced us.
I dont know what I'm asking for here, I just needed to get it out. I know I sound like a baby, I know I'm jealous and I should get over it. I just hate having my best friend have new best friends.

You do NOT sound like a baby. I can bet every single one of us has felt that way about someone one way or another. When i went to disney with my sister and mom we made a promise that we would leave our phones in the room. Although it was good for me and mom, it forced my sister to become more social with us and other people...

I know what you are going through- TRUST ME! 5 years ago my Sister got married and felt that she 'left' me when she moved upstate. I too miss her like CRAZY! We did everything together and now things are different. At least you are going on vacay with her. That is tons more time you get with her! I see my Sis like once a month- if that. And, it's never quality time because she has a kid now.

I'm going to suggest this. I know its selfish of me but I dont want to share her on this trip!

Awww...we have all gone through that Angela..you are not alone.
It is a tough situation but know that just because she is having fun in NC this doesn't mean that you have been replaced. If you were replaced she would not have come up to see your puppy and visint you unexpectedly! You are still number one!

Very true Lauren!!! Your sister loves you Ang and will always be there for you over any of her new friends down there. Her life has changed being in a new state but, she hasnt forgotten about you!!! Who could? Shut your cell phones off in Disney.

Awww.... that's rough.
Just remember that you're her sister - even though I love my friends to pieces, no one could ever replace family.

Your reaction is natural . . .she's your sister!!! But her moving on to friends, and moving away, is also natural. Take it from me, I have a brother who is 9 years older and moved to CA when I was 12 to follow his music career. But the bottom line is, no matter where we go, how often we see each other, or who our friends are . . . . we are still brother and sister and have a connection and understanding that no friends can replace. Her moving and making new friends only broadens your horizons as her sister, you aren't losing her.
On your trip, tell her that you are really excited about re-bonding, and so you think neither of you should take your phones to the parks!!!

I can relate! My sister lives in Ohio! We are very close and I miss her so much! We visit each other but its not the same. She and her husband are expecting their first baby (my future godson) and I hate that they are so far away. My advice- pressure her to move closer, thats what I do and they are thinking of moving closer to home!!!

I don't think you sound like a baby AT ALL!! I think it's totally natural for you to feel upset about 'losing' your sister. Definitely tell her that you want to spend some time with her in Disney and that you miss your quality time with her. I'm sure she will understand.
