Can I vent

Ok, FH & I went to the showcase at Jericho Terrace last Wednesday to see the band 'The Projekt' We really liked them & FH was in charge of calling them to get pricing & most likely book them....well the band leader has called & left 3 messages for him & he HASN'T called him back!!! He was suppose to do it yesterday, so I never said anything (wanted to see if he would remember) Sure enough he forgot AGAIN!!!!

I was so mad last night!!! FH has 1 vendor to book for this wedding & he can't remember!!! Then he wonders why I am so stressed with the planning

Anyone else experiencing this???

i agree - boys are STUPID. and they don't realize how much we put into this day!

i'm just doing everything and whining about it as usual. do you want me to kick your FH in the butt?

I completely understand.

Although I've learned that I have to let him do things on his own time in his own way. If it needs to get done by a certain day, I give him a deadline a day or two before (just in case). This way it gets done on time, he did it himself and he feels he accomplished something.

Oh I gave him a deadline alright He is so good when it comes to work & stuff like that...But he is absent minded when it comes to the wedding...I let him be in charge of this bc he is the one that actually wants a band...If we were getting a DJ it would have been done already!

he is going to get kicked in the butt tomorrow when I see him!!

It doesn't help that for 2 weeks now, I have been asking him for addresses for the STD's that I want to send out!! He forgot where he put the list

actually my FI i the opposite. he wants to help plan with everything and then gets mad when i go to appointments without him. but he works in the city and can't get out here in time to go see everyone with me. gotta love a man who wants to help.

What I'd like to know is what is this work that he claims to be doing since I'm doing all the research, vendor calling emailing and quote collecting. I'm the one who put together our budget and millions of spreadsheets tallying our guest list and table seating, and expenses, etc.

What does he do?

1- Sit in the car while I drive to appointments.
2- Deposit his $$ into our shared account each month.
3- Sign on the dotted line when we book.

I noticed that you are getting married at Floral Terrace. I got married there, you will love it and won't be disappointed. I clicked on your icon name and a picture comes up of a bride and groom in the middle of the dance floor. I have that same picture. Who is that couple in the pic.....it looks familiar...

My poor Kristen! I'm sorry Jay is being a pain, but did you honestly think he was gonna be happy about wedding plans?! No boy ever is, not matter what they say. Even Brian, who wants to go on EVERY freakin' vendor appt with me, has his moments when he just doesn't care. I think it would be easier if all they did was show up in a tux (that we picked out, ofcourse!) .... this way the wedding could be planned in a month!

You know Jay as well as I do...He is the negoitater & the one that wants the band...As I told him last night, if he doesn't have this done by tomorrow, I m booking the DJ!!! I think it will be easier to just tell him what time to show up!

OMG, I think we're marrying the same man! My FH is in charge of the band as well, we found one we both like, and he's in charge of calling and setting up an apt to book, well... it's been two weeks and no apt. He assures me that he'll get around to it and that they won't be booked in the meantime. It's killing me but I'm staying quiet on this one. I have a feeling I'm going to have an 'I told you so moment.'

Yes, I threatened him with this many times.

I'm putting mine in charge of the honeymoon...he's really good with booking and planning our vacations. Anything else...forget it. I need to ask him to put his laundry away for heaven's sake.

Plus, he's so 'frugal' that he starts to freak over pricing, so I have to prep him before we go see vendors. He gets very George Banks like (Father of the Bride), and he starts rubbing his head and pulling at his collar. Quite dramatic, actually...
