I am dress/outfit shopping and I am worried if I look too 'eveningish' for a 10AM chuch ceremony immediately followed by the reception...
Should I wear a non black dress or maybe a jacket with a skirt?
arrghh, decisions, decisions... I just hate being under or overdressed...
Any ideas? thanks ladies!

I think so!
I think it depends more on the style of the dress than the color of the dress. I think a black dress could certainly work for a morning wedding... I've worn one to a morning wedding before. It was short and not *too* dressy, though.

Black isn't as taboo as it used to be ... I wore a black dress to a day time bridal shower last weekend. It was semi-casual with flowers and a flowy material, so it wasn't too fancy.

my wedding is at 9:30 am...and the reception is at 12:30..and I would totally wear a black dress to a wedding at that time...i would see nthing wrong with it...go for it!

same here and as a morning/afternoon bride I appreciated black dresses at my wedding much more than the people who showed up more on the casual side just because it was daytime...I mean its still someone's wedding and chances are it's still at a formal reception hall regardless of what time it is...I say black dress it is

Totally agree. I'm getting married in the morning as well and it's not any less fancy than if it was at night. I would totally wear black.
