Can someone explain to me...

How or why wedding planning is enjoyable??? I mean, I guess there's been enjoyable moments, but as a whole, wedding planning has been super stressful and a pain in the a$$! Am I the only one who feels this way?

LOL before I got engaged all I did was look up all the things I wanted for my wedding and dreamed about how perfect it is... maybe if I had an endless budget to get all the little things I pinned on pinterst it would be a little less stressful.. but in all honestly it sucks!

I find it stressful for me because I am working with budget. If money were no object then I would just use whatever vendor I want without having to compare prices.

Dealing w other people's opinions is the most stressful. I don't care Nymore about their opinions and we are doing what we want.

I'm super stressed tryin to be the good daughter in law and tring to be appreciated by my parents.

I agree. Especially being on a budget makes in that much more stressful because it's also worrying about the cost of everything. It's a lot of work and a lot of money for one day. And it's a lot of people other then yourself to try to please. Even when you do what you want because it's your own wedding so you should be the one that is happy, the other people still somehow stress you out about it!

I am at the point where I am over it. A lot of aspects were fun and I really enjoyed some of my DIY but there is also plenty of stuff that is just a pain in the butt. I am ready to move on with my life and not have something wedding related to work on every weekend.

I am SOOO over it. I've hated this whole planning process. It's caused me so much anxiety and stress...I just don't see the fun in it. If I knew it'd be like this, I seriously might've eloped or done a destination.

It is so stressful and expensive and too many people have opinions. If it were up to me I wouldve done a justice of the peace but fh wont!! I kid him all the time and say he can plan the whole thing and be the bride wearing the dress. Lol

this is what i say sometimes too - I wish I did a destination wedding.

Just think it's almost here and it will all be over soon. It's going to be a FUN day! Make sure you have fun after everything that went into it!!

I feel ya! There was were some fun parts though but some family and friends made it very stressful! I did have fun picking out my dress, talking about it to people who cared and my DYI projects! Hang in there

It has its stressful moments but over all I'm enjoying it. My issue is I hate waiting on people, that is what stresses me the most.

I think there must be something wrong with me, cause I love this. Like love it so much if I knew I would be successful I'd quit my job and become a wedding coordinator. I seriously might just help brides for fun after mine is over.

You are definitely not alone. The worst part for me is how everyone has their own opinion about what kind of wedding it is and what you should have.
All I wanted was a simple ceremony and dinner/dancing at a nice place, not too big of a thing. All of a sudden everyone's planning huge bachelor parties, telling me I NEED to get hotels, limos, do the bouquet toss, have a special drink, like everything you can think of that you see on four weddings or something.
I mean I got hotels to accomodate people but if people think this is a big blowout then they are going to be disappointed
I love shopping and I love shoes and getting my hair done so those have been fun parts, but calling florists, etc has been AWFUL!

I have been really enjoying it! It has helped that I have had lots of time to plan. Trying to plan a wedding in a few months must be a nitemare. Plus, FH has been really involved as well. It has brought us closer together in many ways, planning this big event together. It also helps that I am at a time in my life when there is very little family drama going on, so everyone is on board.
I really like doing all the research, thinking through different ideas, working with the vendors etc etc!
I have also thought about doing event planning as a side career maybe. Not just wedding planning, because I think I would get sick of weddings after awhile, but maybe doing something in the business!

OMG I thought I was the only one who felt like this. All I keep saying to people is, this is one day in our lives not our whole life!! I want it to be perfect yes, but come on.
