movies like Hostel and Saw?
Hostel is on now, and we were watching it but I just left the living room because I honeslty got sick. I really dont know who comes up with these movies, but this is just not right.

I agree. I do not like horror/gore movies at all. However it is all about entertainment so there has to be something for everyone.

I'm a total Horror Movie Nerd - a real gore-wh0re. But I honestly can't say why I enjoy these types of films or why they don't bother me.

And like Lindsay (MadSeason) said, if all you've seen are American horror films - you ain't seen NOTHING!

I agree with everyone about saw! I didn't want to watch them at first becasue I thought it was just gore for the sake of gore. But then I forced myself to watch them and the plot lines are so good! The movies all link together and everything is done for a reason. I have not seen the latest one yet. Hostel was just gore for the sake of gore IMO. I did watch it and was grossed out! I don't get it. It just wants to gross you out I think, there was no real suspense, it was just torture!!!

I see what you're saying about Hostel but if you look deeper, movies like Hostel or Texas Chainsaw Massacre have storylines that could have or [i]could[/i] happen - so it's not just to gross you out but to scare you. 'Omigod! Could that happen to me'. And the gore just really drives the point home.

But yeah, you really have to have the stomach for that and it's definitely not for everyone.

ive seen a lot worse than hostel - August Undergroud and Penance was omg - i dont know if I peeked once...and cannibal holocaust gave me nightmares for over a week...

Those are FHs movies. We know the director of the first one and the second one is an italian film.

American horror and gore films, believe it or not - are MILD compared to the overseas horror/gore market

do u follow the 8 films to die for!?!!

FH and i started following them and we are in LOVE!
he can only watch with me and i only have motivation to see them with him... i will not watch horror alone... but borderland is great if you wanna see

when i first watched saw i didnt like it and closed my eyes during a lot of it. however, after seeing the ending and thinking about it afterwards i realized it was very clever and i enjoyed it. i liked it better the 2nd time
