Can someone explain to me why...(Last vent before the wedding)

Original post by Butterfly123

people who arent involved in your life the LEAST BIT get insulted if theyre not invited to your wedding and then say, 'You have a lot of family who would love to see you get married' WHY? Why would they love to see us get married when we havent had a phone call from anyone for years?? If people arent close family, why do they feel they have the right to be insulted? Is it because they wont be able to enjoy the open bar and free food?? God, weddings are annoying. This is my LAST VENT til my wedding! Thanks for listening

I read somewhere on LIW a bride that said 'I don't want to have to say the words nice to meet you at my wedding' and this is a guideline I would like to follow.

I can understand not knowing someones date, but if someone hasn't been in your life in the last 5 years (and thats stretching it) then they shouldn't be invited.

I think Davenjess is the one who says that and I agree one hundred percent! Those are great guidelines.

Ugggh, I know exactly what you're talking about...I also hate when people invite themselves to your wedding...and those are the exact people you know you're not inviting

I agree with that completely. Some people don't understand that DNA does not constitute an invitation.
