McCain created the name...Obama used it to explain his plan as it related to the man McCain was talking about...Obama had 2 minutes and actually had a plan he needed to commnicate so Im assuming instead of explaining he used the name to counter the wrongful accusation that 'Joe the Plumbers' taxes would be raised ...as 98% of small businesses make LESS than a $250,000 a year so his taxes would be CUT ...and if 'Joe the Plumbers' business makes more than this HE SHOULD pay more to help this country get out of the ecomonic crisis we are facing. HTH

well he didnt just make up 'joe the plumber' lol, he used it because while Obama was on his campaign trail he actually met someone named Joe... who was a plumber.
