Can we be honest for a minute?-Re: inviting ppl to wedding

Are there/were there people you invited to your wedding- that you really did not want to?

We have friends with significant others that I could od with out- those obligatory family friends I would rather not invite-

My parents are famous for that. My mother is the queen of 'well I was invited to their wedding'...in 1973!

We probably invited a total of 20 people whom we didn't really care for, but had to invite... I don't think any of them are coming

ABSOLUTELY!!! I can probably find 30 people on my list that I do not want at my wedding...and they're all on my mom's list and FMIL's list. And 1 on my dad's list. I don't understand why I need to invite people that I have never met or haven't seen in 10 years.

I have several cousins I would rather not invite and 10 of my fathers friends who I've never met...one on my FI friends who I dont like.....

I actually have to put people that I would like to come on a B List....my room only holds 150 (but if my father would not invite his friends - I would be fine and if FI would only invite his friends without guests - which is what I was planning on doing for my friends) This whole thing ****s!!!!!!!

How about this. My FFIL's second cousin's, children's, children.... Well that's about 4-6 I could do without.

not only do I have the Obligateds, but ...

ONE OF THEM IS IN MY WEDDING PARTY!

plus, I had to hear why FMIL's friends aren't invited.

Thank God that phase is over with

I'm beginning to wonder if there is anyone on this list that I want to invite. My mom and my FMIL both want to invite people they work with yet there is no room for me or my FI to invite our work buddies and we are paying. Something is wrong with this senario.

We got lucky, we were originally going to elope and just invite the immediate family..but then we had a change of heart, but everyone knows we want to keep it very small, CLOSE family and friends and thats how its going to be, We are keeping it to about 80..so this way we will be celebrating with everyone who truly cares about us and loves us..I like the way its worked out because he and I both have a ton of relatives and it would get insane..
