My dad insisted that no vendors, servers, or valet have that. He arranged to tip via the caterer, we generously tipped all vendors and they were all instructed to say when offered a tip by a guest; thank you, your host has taken care of it. Also, the valets had a sign to that effect as well. We doubted whether this would work but our guests, surprised, told us that tips were refused. In fairness, given the exceptional service we got from our service folk, we did tip exceptionally well to each at the end of the night.

I don't care about the tip jar... at first I thought it was tacky... but FH said that the bartenders deserve all the tips they can get (this is their job)... so if my hall puts them out then that's fine... if not then that's fine too... I am not really concerned about this...
same here...

No tip jars in sight at my wedding. If someone wants to tip anyway (we always do), they can have a jar UNDER the bar OUT OF SIGHT.
Yeah, I think that's more appropriate

i thought that if you are already tipping them based on your contract with the caterer, that they should not be putting out any tip jars?
you should mention it and during the wedding day, you should also alert your bridal party to get those removed if they are seen

oh Nooooooooo- please, I DID NOT mean to imply that b/c you don't want a tacky tip jar on the bar, that you don't tip !!! I was just making a suggestion. -
Oh, I don't care, I just meant I tip too, and if people want to tip, then they can, but I don't want people to feel like they have to ya know..
