That my neighbor behind me had someone come to my house to get an estimate on how much it would cost to chop the huge pine tree down in my backyard!! They left the estimate in my mailbox. The estimate was over $1000. I'm fuming! We have a really tall pine tree in our backyard, and our neighbor behind us keeps complaining that the pine needles keep falling into his $3000 flower beds and runing them. He wants us to chop it down. I'm just waiting to come home one day and see my tree gone and a bill in my mailbox!! I know someone here mentioned a place that chops down trees for free, anyone know if that's true and if so who can I call about that. I'm not spending over $1000 to chop a tree down right now.

What nerve!!!
This happened to my parents and their wonderful neighbors years ago. The tree was dropping nuts on their car and it was denting their new car. They wanted to split the cost with my parents, which was well over 1000 dollars. My mother and father laughed in their face and said, why don't you use the money to build a garage!

The freakin nerve!!! I'm sorry but to have someone come on your property when you're not home is wrong!!! Screw him! Even if he paid for the tree removal I wouldn't do it! Obvisously, he\she has no respect for you and your property! What an A--!

Legally he can have the branches that hang over his property cut, at his expense. He cannot have the entire tree cut down.
We have a similar situation with our neighbor, but we are on the other side. Since I moved in seven years ago, he's been telling be he's going to cut down the tree but he hasn't done a thing yet. It's an old tree and doesn't look that healthy, so I'm concerned about it falling on my house during a storm. So, I can understand your neighbor's position but he was out of line to get an estimate and put it in your mailbox.

If you don't mind the tree going tell him to pay for it PERIOD! I understand because pine needles are a PITA but still it's your property to do with what he wants! What an azz
