Can you believe...

OKay so I just feel the need to post this. Last night was a friends B-day. I went to her apartment after work for cake. Somehow weddings got brought up and her boyfriend and my FH are volunteer firemen she had said something like oh I would never have maroon dresses that so lame (soemthing to that affect). So I turned around and said Im not sure exactly what color they are but they are gonna be some type of red color. She made a comment and kind of pissed me off. My friend was there (MDOLPH6) and she saw that I was upset. Now the pathetic thing is that Im the kind of person that cares what people think AND I was thinkign of changing my BM dress colors. I decided not to. Now, Do you think I should mention something to her about me being upset at her comment or just let it go? I have a feeling if I do then she'll give the old I was only kidding thing or soemthing like that.
If you guys didnt like a color that your friend picked out for BM dresses would you make comments? Keep in mind...SHE ISNT EVEN IN THE WEDDING PARTY!!!!!!!!!
She seems to think the dresses will clash with the Fire turcks.................

I'm so sorry that she was so rude to make that comment and hurt your feelings!! Don't you DARE even think about changing your BM dress color, maroon (or whatever red you choose) is going to be gorgeous!!!!!!! Don't worry about the fire trucks clashing, that's ridiculous!!

You could mention to her that she hurt your feelings, but you're right, you'll prob get the 'just kidding' response. But I don't know your friend, so she might actually learn to keep her mouth shut the next time she has an opinion.

To answer your other question, if I didn't like something the bride picked out, and esp her wedding colors (and esp if I wasn't even in the BP), I'd keep my mouth shut!! It's YOUR special day to live out your vision, don't let anyone take that away from you!!!!!

YES!!! i can believe that someone would be so rude!

i, also, smell the 'green monster'.

that said. go on with your wedding planning the way it's been going. i've seen the stuff you're coming up with.... and to be VERY RUDE.... i like everything you're doing. i think you have great taste and your wedding will be beautiful.

the only time anyone should say ANYTHING about a wedding color/color combo is if you go with neon green and neon pink

don't pay her any mind.

yeah i agree. it was a stupid comment--no sense in dwelling on it. she was retarded

People don't always think before they talk. It's funny because a few months ago I had a similar situation. A friend of mine, who isn't in my BP, kept telling me that she didn't like colored calla lilies, and that the large white ones are much nicer. I honestly started looking at white lilies until one day I realized - what the he!! am I doing!? What do I care what she thinks, and now I'm going back to what I want.

Not everyone is going to love every idea you have, but go with what you like. You'll be much happier in the end!

who cares, especially if shes not in the wedding party! ..dont even bother, its your wedding, you do whatever color you like, and personally maroon is a nice color she needs to keep her mean comments 2 herself

I agree.. Is this 'friend' engaged ? I was having alot of issues w/ a friend who isn' engaged yet and alot of the reason behind her being so difficult was that she was jelous... It's sad butr true. Now I try not to mention my wedding around her too much

I would let it go and not let her have the satisfaction of knowing she upset you.

personally, i would just let it go - it isn't worth it. perhaps you will realize she inserted her foot into her mouth, perhaps she won't. some people don't understand that they don't ALWAYS have to share their opinions, particularly when they weren't asked! i wouldn't change your plans, at all. red and maroon and burgandy dresses are GORGEOUS (perhaps i'm partial because i used burgandy ) but really, it's YOUR wedding... do what YOU want. and to answer your question, if i was in someone's wedding party (or not, like her) and i didn't like the color, i would keep my opinion to myself... not my wedding, not my choice.

no offense but your friend sounds a little nutty - why dos she care if your dress classhes with a fire truck??!!!

people always find something to say - my latest comment was i must be getting married in november cuz its cheap and the other was its dumb to do a christmas theme plus fall is so much nicer!!!

i wouldnt change my date or my theme cuz of one stupid comment - just get her out of your mind and enjoy the planning - its your day and you should be able to choose whatever you want

Who gives a flying F&%# what she thinks? You are the only one who matters on your wedding day. She's just jealous.

Nancy- here is some great advice for you and you can start trying it out with this wedding.
1) Who cares what anyone thinks. In a year from now you may not even have these people in your life.

2) It's all about you. Does it make you happy? Then do it. Is it something that is going to directly affect other peoples happiness in thier lives? If no- then party like a rock star!

3) There are two people on this earth that have opinions that count...your mom and your grandmom. Occasionally the sister! Ok, make that three.

If you worry all the time what other people think then you are not devoting time to what you think and you are just as important as everyone else.

Besides.....when she gets married you can tell her that her dresses are ugly!

Thanks everyone......I AM NOT changing my colors or anything if someone doesnt like it. I cant believe that its taken me almost 30 YEARS to figure out that I shouldnt really give a ^@ what people think.
No, she isnt engaged and your right, she probably is jealous b/c 2 of us are getting married.
