without a birth certificate? what other forms of id if any are valid?

Depends on where you go. We went to Smithtown and only needed driver's license and SS card. You should call before you go and ask what that specific town hall requires.

Definitely call first, we went to town of Hempstead and needed our birth certificate and drivers license.

We went to the town hall of north hempstead and didnt need it. All we needed as a drivers license and passport. But definately call first to see what they need. Each town hall asks for different ids. Or check out the town hall's website for requirements.

For Town of Hempstead I was told that both bride and groom must appear at the clerk’s office with two forms of ID; license, passport, birth certificate (one must be valid photo ID).

It doesn't take long to get a copy of your birth cert. Just call the town where you got married, find out what info you need to send, send $10-15. And it should be in the mail. You might be able to go to the town hall and get one.

town of brookhaven needs both parties a certified birth certificate and photo id got ours wednesday
