Since you are all married now (congrats - ) can you help me decide on a good favor idea? I don't want something to collect dust on some one's shelf, or have them leave it at the table of my reception hall, or go crazy expensive & waste money!
My ideas:
1)Wine with a personalized label
2) wine stopper (but I am seeing that very frequently now)
3) A set of 4 coasters with 'LOVE' written on them (they were in my WOTY goodie bag)
Or any ideas greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much & it was great watching you all go through wedding planning over the last year!

I was surprised how many guest commented on our donation favor. It was a win-win for everyone- especially the Brooklyn-Queens Catholic Big Brothers/Big Sisters who could hire an intern for the winter with our donation. It really felt great.
You also get the tax write-off- the ONLY one you can get by getting married

Well we did champagne bottles but one of my friends did the wine and it was a hit.. My mom gave out the love coasters at my shower.. I also like the personalized cd's...

hmm.. my hub and i aren't big on wine so numbers 1 and 2 is out for us and as for number 3.. i'm not too crazy about the 'love' word printed around, or hearts, kisses, teddy bears, etx (just my opinion, gals )
have you thought about having something edible? I do like the charity idea. i've never been to a wedding that did that, yet at least, but i think i would feel all warm and nice inside.

we did mugs with tea bags inside. You wouldn't believe how many people commented on what a good idea it was!
We are doing wine, large bottles, one per couple. I found a woman on ebay who makes beautiful swarovski crystals wine charms. I will tie the charms to the bottle with the matching ribbon. I hope it looks pretty

I'm always a fan of edible favors.
I think my all time favorite favor was from a wedding I went to in October - both the bride and groom were recent PhD's, and they gave each guest a book. The books were published by Dover Publishers and cost a dollar each (paperback). Everyone got something different - novels, plays, poetry. I got Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray - Wilde is one of my favorite writers. DH got Anna Karennina, which he traded for Death in Venice by Terrence Mann.
It was so much fun seeing what books everyone got - and everyone was trading! If you and DH are book lovers - and you'll have some book lovers at the wedding, the favors are a hit.
