Can you suggest a nice hotel if I want to visit the wineries out East?
Can anyone suggest a nice place to stay out East. I can't take a honeymoon because of work, but I would like a long weekend.
I was looking for a really clean place (FI and I are fanatics about hotels) with some things to do.
I have never been to the wineries. Are they far from hotels?
What about East End????
Thanks

Living out east I can tell you there are not many hotels... are you looking at North Fork or South Fork?
I know there are many beautiful little bed and breakfast type places on the east end. Also, there are two new 'hotels' in Greenport, The Harbourfront and The Greenporter:

Here is a list of a bunch of North Fork lodging places: http://www.northforkweddings.com/hotels-motels-inns-resorts.html
Good luck!

The Jedediah Hawkins Inn is a beautiful place to stay - more of a B&B than a hotel but not too far from everything. There is also the Soundview Inn which is more motel-ish but has great views of the Sound (hence its catchy name). There are probably some cute inns in Greenport too. Basically as long as you're not too far from Sound Ave you have all the wineries in close proximity!

Yes, the North Fork has quite a few more vineyards than the South Fork... and they are all in close proximity to each other.

Hi! The south fork is basically the Hamptons and then Montauk. There are some wineries there. The above poster was right- there are many more wineries on the North Fork. IMO, the north fork is more laid back than the south. Although, Montauk is also laid back and is beautiful. Someone else mentioned Jebediah Hawkins, which is in Jamesport on the north fork- it is gorgeous and very clean! You could also stay at East Wind, it's a 10 minute drive to the North Fork from there. FM me if you want more info. Good luck!
