Canceling a Vendor??

Canceling a Vendor??

Last night FH and I went and booked our Video with Golden Moments!!!Golden Moments
YAY!! All vendors are officially booked!

BUT while we were there..(just like SugarKube4 had the same experience w/ Right Angle).. I LOVED Golden Moments photography too..
I've always worked in the fashion industry (between makeup and photography) and I liked their edgy fashion styled shots..

Have any of you ever broken your contract? FH really liked their work too.. what happens if you cancel? I only put a $400 deposit when I booked the photographer. Modern Wedding Photography

Should I just forget about it, I mean I still like my current photographers work.. it's just this one is really different..

I think we may just do an engagement session w/ them, since it wasn't included in my other photographers package.. They said they would bring video along, and incorporate it into the wedding video too. I'm thinking its better to do this then break contracts.. I'd hate to do that.

ok so HELP!!!!

i cancelled a vendor...photographer too!

we lost our deposit....that was about it. it suucked losing that, but i wasn't happy with their work. i booked them in June 2005 and just cancelled them about a month or two ago. from the time i booked, to the time i cancelled, i could not find any recent work i liked.

read your contract, and it will tell you any info on cancelling. chances are , you are cancelling far enough ahead that you will only lose your deposit

I so too felt the same way when I booked right angle for video, loved their pics, but knew even if i could get out of the contract would still not be able to afford the pics as well. I think having them do the engagement pics is a really good compromise.

I have change my mind a couple of times with my wedding decisions and i don't regret the changes i've made. I like the Photographer's that you booked but if you don't feel secure go for what you feel. Don't have regret's.

Am - IMO, is the price better? To be honest you only have 5 months left....I wouldn't know if it is really worth it now.....

You are gonna lose 400 that could've been invitations.. ya kno.....It';s totally up to you... I dont think you are going to be dissappointed with the one you have now.....My suggestion maybe do the day after shoot with just you and Joe...i am sure you can save a retty penny that way....

Lee it's true I guess.. The money we would be losing w/ canceling could pay for the day after shoot.. so I think we may just do that, so we can have some of those edgy shots we want

i had a similar experience

i lost my deposit but i ended up with a vendor that i really loved versus one that suuucked lol haha! but it was great-- i don't think, as long as you give them SOME notice (like not a month before haha) that they can make you pay anything else. They might try to scare you by saying that but it's usually not true-- in my case, that is what happened but I knew better.

I also put my intentions in writing and faxed it.

good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Canceling a Vendor??

Hey that is what happened to me I lost my deposit but then again im glad I cancelled because the company QBC is trash. i was sold on cheap prices and started to realize I deserve better and they were not catering to me the way I wanted them to so I cancelled and lost my deposit. i have no regrets I prefer to get everything things right now then not getting what I really wanted after my wedding. When i can't really do things over.

I know someone mentioned a reshoot, doesn't that cost money also. wouldn't it be better to just lose the deposit get what you really want than spending money on a reshoot later.
