YES that happened to me. I had 2 good friends each cancel about 2 weeks before the wedding, then another couple a few days before, and another friend and guest cancelled 2 days before.. and one no show. i basically paid for 5 people that weren't there and was soooo p i ss e d.. still am! i was hurt by 2 people, the rest i didn't care that they weren't there, just upset because they didn't care that i already made my final payment. my rh gave me an ice sculpture to make up for it, but $500!!! i'd rather have that back.

2 were due to the 'economy' because they were OOT.. yet when they cancelled they should probably have booked a flight already.. 1 was because she was hired to host a party for celine dion's son.. no joke.. 1's grandmother died which i totally understand so that was ok.

i may be selfish and mean but i really keep thinking that celine dion owes me $200

This just made me die laughing at my desk

OMG that would annoy me so much ... to redo seating charts and thank god you didnt do placecards!!!!!!!!! UGH! What were their reasons?

2 had very good reasons - onset of a serious illness and my heart really goes out to them and they are in my prayers ever day

Others

1- 'feeling down'
1- 'sudden emerency'
1- 'just doesn't know what could come up since she has a son. ' mind you she has a healthy 7 year old.

w t ffffff??? thats complete BS and I'd be livid. Feeling down?????? GET OVER IT, you have 2 weeks to do so. And explain to me how you know you have a 'sudden emergency' 2 weeks out? Maybe I'm being a b*tch, but those sound like lousy bogus excuses to me. FH has a coworker who is ALWAYS cancelling plans on ppl due to some lame excuse concerning his 8 yr old daughter - if he pulls this sh*t on us i'll flip.

I'm so sorry to hear about the illness
As for the lame excuses....they don't deserve to witness the most beautiful day of your life. Losers! i know things come up but seriously....feeling down and a sudden emergency 2 weeks out?! AND 'I have a son...'. Meh.

My sentiments exactly. I mean, I have very little compassion for people feeling down (unless something traumatic has happened). Life is short - people need to shake their funk. Yeah I never get sudden emergencies in advance either. Oh well, what can you do, people disappoint. The people who can make it are in for a great party - they will not be dissappointed!

Re: Cancellations

my advice Kristina if you haven't already given your final count give about 3-4 people less just in case you get No shows on the day of or day before. I did this and it worked out perfect I est 6 people I told RH I would pay day for those people day of I didn't end up paying because that is exactly how many no shows I had.
