So Cancun was always one of those places I wanted to goto. But didn't want to go to because of all the 18 year olds running around drunk. Just not my thing. I looked online and its like 1800.00 for 2 and includes everything meals drinks snorkeling and all that kind of stuff. SO my question is anyone ever go. When did you go and when do you think the best time to go is?

I been there 5x! Definitely do NOT go anytime near Spring break or when schools have vacation. Try to stay someplace mid-strip, w/ a private beach. I know during the summer they have good rates. I've always gone in February or the beginning of March (b4 actual spring break) & the weather is wonderful & its not overrun w/ kids.

I went to Cancun with Brad and his family during the summer of 2000. We stayed at Cancun Palace, and it was wonderful!

thanks girls. We are looking at some things for our 1 year anniversary. But then we are like its the summer and Mike only will have 13 vacation hours. So I was thinking maybe fall is that a bad time?

I've been there once in August and once in September. It was great b/c there were no spring breakers whatsoever.
I myself, cannot stand that s%%t anyway, so I made sure no kids were there.......although I did get into an argument w/ an obnoxious drunk gay fella from I think Ireland but other than that........I love Cancun and would go back in a millisecond.
I stayed at the Gran Caribe which I think now it is RIU--(it was bought out)--BEAUTIFUL hotel. There is just so much to do in Mexico--I would highly consider going.
There are tons of hotels down there some nicer than others......you can google Cancun hotels and see for yourself what you like best. Most sites show you pics, Then go to Expedia/Opinions and double check their ratings.

I've been there once in August and twice in December and we had a great time each time we went. The first 2 times we stayed at the moon palace which is off the main strip but only a short car-ride away. The last time we stayed at the Aventura Palace with is abut an hour out of cancun. Both hotels were all inclusive and we had no complaints.

I went in May and there were very few spring breaker types. There were actually more HMers, I think!! Anyway, I had a BLAST. We stayed at the Cancun Palace also and it was perfect - not too fancy or expensive, all-inclusive, the beach was right there, great pool, etc. The only thing I have to say is the food was only so-so. But if you stay at the Cancun Palace you can go to any of their sister hotels - the Sun Palace and the Moon Palace. The Moon Palace is the more upscale one and they have like 6 restaurants and a night club. It's beautiful too.

The fall is a good time to go too.....You can also look into the Riveria Maya area. It is about 30 minutes south of the Cancun airport. It is not a built up as the strip so if you don't care that you don't have all the bars and clubs there, it is beautiful down there. No spring breakers there.....Most of the hotels are all inclusive (meals and drinks, alcohol too..). I send a ton of clients there...

Danielle and I are going to the Grand Xcaret in August for our 1 year. It is located in the Riviera Maya. It is more expensive than Cancun but It will be worth it. Scott

my sister just booked cancun with her husband- they are going in may.... she got a smiliar deal to want you are looking for. I heard it is beautiful, and a lot of fun. Plus there is a lot of history there. I know, I envision a crazy spring break- drunk crowd- thats march- mid april...

we went to Cancun in August few years ago, the hotel was full of families, which sometimes could get a really annoying... but we have been to a few different destination since then and I havent seen water like that anywhere... for that kind of price I would go again... I would check if Riviera Maya has similar deals...

we went to Cancun Palace too!!!! I really enjoyed their night shows
btw june, if you are in Cancun def. go and see Chichen Itza, Coba and Tulum (if you are into history)

My BIL just went to cancun this past week and is coming home today. Whe he gets home I will ask him how it was and all that jazz and report back. He also popped the question to his girlfriend while he was there!!!!!!! So first we all have to talk about that, then on to cancun

we LOVE cancun. we stayed in my boss's timeshare, super cheap that way, amazing hotel. the royal sands... here are a few pics for you! we went the last week in aug. first week in september. NO spring breakers AT ALL. we literally felt like we had the entire place to ourself! my boss recommended it to us, we have been to many islands and travel a lot. at first i was a little worried that it would be your 'typical' spring break vacation place, but it couldnt be further from that! definitely go you wont regret it!

Cancun is amazing. I went in August with two of my friends. We stayed at the Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun, which i HIGHLY recommend. It's gorgeous. Have fun! I'm jealous!

not bad at all!!!! there were 7 of us, fh and I, his brother and his GF, my best friend and 2 of fh's other friends. we had a BLAST!!! we still say it was our best vacation ever and there have been many!
